Pupils at Fair Oak College, in Rugeley, celebrating their glowing Ofsted report along with their delighted headteacher Christine Hardman
A Rugeley school is celebrating after receiving a glowing Ofsted report.
Staff at Fair Oak College have been told by Ofsted that it is “a good and improving school” with “outstanding features”.
Headteacher Christine Hardman said: “Their visit was an opportunity for us to show off the good work that we do and to get recognition for the high standards that we are attaining.
“The inspectors based their judgement on many classroom observations and it is pleasing that there was an unusually high proportion of outstanding lessons observed — a tribute to the thorough planning and professionalism of the staff, coupled with the commitment to learning by the students.
“A range of other aspects of the college were scrutinised and found to be good, with outstanding aspects being recognised an almost all areas.
“We are particularly proud of our judgement of outstanding for safe-guarding. Earlier this year we were the first school in the county to receive the silver award for our work on the Every Child Matters agenda and the safety and happiness of our students are as important as academic success.
“The report comments on our personalised intervention which ensures that the needs of all students are met and that the school provides a safe, supportive environment.”
