Students take on Wolverhampton’s road trouble

Solutions to transport problems in Wolverhampton will be put forward by city students.

Civil engineering students from Wolverhampton University were tasked with designing solutions for three areas of the city.

They were to find a way to provide access for 7,000 people each day to the i54 development, improving the existing Stafford Street/ Ring Road junction and the junction at Birmingham Road/ Ring Road.

Students’ ideas will be presented to the public on May 5 at the city centre campus from 5.30pm.

Peter Mills, principal lecturer in civil engineering at the university’s school of technology, said: “This year the theme of all projects have been transport related.”
