Are today’s children less motivated?

A US teacher has become an internet star with a withering blog attacking her lazy pupils that got her suspended.

Natalie Munroe, who teaches English in the middle-class Central Bucks School District of Feasterville, Pennsylvania, asked why today’s children were so unmotivated.

In the profanity-laced blog, which has since been taken down, the 30-year-old called her pupils “disengaged, lazy whiners” and complained that they were “just generally annoying” and “disobedient, disrespectful oafs”.

Online comments either applauded her or attacked her. Ms Munroe did not use her full name or identify her students or school. The school refuses to comment.

Do you think today’s children are less motivated than previous generations? Leave your comment below.
