As the doors opened for Sunday's fair at The Mount Hotel in Tettenhall, couples came along to seek inspiration for the biggest day of their lives.

With more than 40 stands to browse and exhibitors to chat with, there was certainly no shortage of ideas for planning a dream wedding.

Wolverhampton Magazine editor Karen Knowles said: "It's always fun to be part of people's wedding plans and share their excitement.

"Every year we try to add something new to the fair and this year was no exception. With live music creating a great atmosphere and more exhibitors than ever before, there was plenty of choice and the stands were beautifully presented.

"We were especially pleased that so many of those who exhibited were from the local area showcasing what a wealth of expertise is on the doorstep."

Among the exhibitors was exuberant Caterina Bianchi Di Vigny who is famous in her birthplace Ibiza.

Spanish socialites are clamouring for her eye-catching confections, including the son of Baroness Thyssen-Bornemisza who commissioned Caterina to make a cake for his son Eric's first birthday.

"A stiletto shoe sitting atop four tiers made entirely from sugar paste was a real talking point for those visiting Caterina's stand at the wedding fair.

"Every woman loves shoes. If you came to my house you wouldn't believe how many pairs of high heels I own," said Caterina, whose business Cake Show is based in Shifnal.

"The wedding fair was great fun, very lovely and I had a lot of people interested in my cakes."

The ambience of the day was enhanced by live music performed by vocalist Amy Goodall, musician Mike Snow and The Vintage Rhythms jazz band.
