A young Wolves fan completed the transformation from 'Robert Plant to Steve Bull' when she had her head shaved for charity on the pitch at Molineux.

Season ticket holder Lucy Parrett, aged 11, had her flowing locks cropped down to a close crop in memory of her two beloved grandfathers.

The Springdale Junior School pupil went under the shaver at half time during Tuesday's 3-0 victory against Fulham.

And despite more than 17,000 onlookers, Lucy said she took the whole experience in her stride.

"I was a little nervous to start with, but I really enjoyed it in the end," said Lucy, who lives in Perton and counts Bakary Sako as her favourite player.

Her hair was shorn by Katie Adams, from Wolves official hairdressers K2Barbers after the club had been contacted by Lucy's mother, Tina.

"We were so happy when the club agreed to do it," said Tina, aged 43, who works with Wolves' mascots on match days.

"They have given Lucy tremendous support and it was nice they got the official barbers to do the deed!"

Lucy said she was inspired to have her locks trimmed after seeing a television programme about a girl who performed a similar stunt.

She decided to raise cash for the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK in memory of her grandfathers, Cliff Parrett, who died of heart failure in 1990, and Selwyn Morris, who died of cancer in 1977.

Tina said: "Lucy never got to meet either of her grandads but she feels very close to them. We still visit their graves regularly and she wanted to do something in their honour."

After the close crop Lucy's hair was swept from the pitch and will now be donated to the 'Little Princess Trust', a charity that makes real hair wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.

"This is the first time Lucy has had short hair," added Tina. "She's gone from Robert Plant to Steve Bull, but I don't think she's in any rush for it to grow back.

"Maybe she'll experiment with a few styles first."
