Wolves legend Steve Bull opens new city gym

Wolves legend Steve Bull proved he is still fighting fit as he opened a new gym in the city.

The gym chain Xercise4Less opened its latest facility in The Grasshopper Building, Craddock Street, with the Wolves record scorer on hand to cut the ribbon before mingling with fans.

The new gym is aiming bring over 40 jobs to people in the region, ranging from personal trainers to membership managers.

The venue, which is the groups 24th site, will hold more than 400 pieces of equipment for fitness fanatics to get to grips with.

The former Wolves and England striker said: "The gym was very impressive and will be great for the area, it was absolutely brilliant.

"It is all new equipment and as an ex professional I would happily work out here all day long.

"The colours inside are gold and black too, which is a nice touch and makes it feel like home for people in the city."

Paul Hancox has joined as general manager at the gym after holding various roles in the fitness industry.

He said: "The opening day was a great success and it was nice to finally see some people in the building.

"Of course having Steve Bull there to open up was great, he was lovely with everyone, chatting away, posing for photos and trying out the equipment.

"He even challenged our mascot The Colonel to a push up competition, which he came out on top in.

"Bully did 72 push ups in just over a minute, which is quite impressive, he has clearly still got it.

"I think we will use his record as a target for our new members to try and match."

"What I think he liked more than anything else was our colour scheme, which is gold and black."
