The Big Top has set up home in the grounds of the Brierley Hill complex.

Gandey Circus opened on Friday night and will be entertaining crowds until November 2.

The Big Top has been specially constructed by workers in one of the centre's car parks ready for the shows.

Clowns, acrobats and other circus acts have been working hard in rehearsals to wow families as they take their seats.

There will be plenty of clowning around as a well known act returns to the area for his third time.

Clown act Emilion Delbosq, who was born in England and raised in France, is back in the Black Country.

The town holds happy memories for Emilion who proposed to his girlfriend and fellow circus star Andrea Mihut while performing in Brierley Hill in 2012.

Hundreds of people cheered in the audience as he got down on one knee to propose in the middle of the ring after one of their skits finished.

The couple met while on a circus tour when Andrea, who is from Romania, was a juggler and trapeze artist and Emilion was a solo clown.

They married later that year and have a son called Lewis.

Also entering the ring will be illusionists and the Serik (COR) aerial acrobats.

Ringmaster Robert Price, who is master of ceremonies for the show, says preparations have been going well.

"We have been busy in rehearsals. It has been going really and we are pleased to be here," he said.

"There is a wide variety of acts. We are hoping for good crowds."

Tickets start at £8 with discounts for family bookings. Shows taking place at 2pm and 7.30pm. Visit www.gandeyscircus.com for details.
