But what she thought was a night out to celebrate a friend's birthday turned out to be an occasion she will never forget as she came face-to-face with her music idol Pharrell Williams - and it was all captured on camera.

Unbeknown to the 21-year-old from Stafford she was being filmed to appear in the first episode of the new series of Surprise, Surprise, which airs on ITV1 on Wednesday.

Miss Addison had been nominated to appear on the show by her friend Lauren Hawke after a difficult past few years in which her father died at the age of 45.

Miss Addison said: "Lauren convinced me that we were going to celebrate her birthday for the weekend.

"The waiter came over with a cocktail and he started dancing then the entire restaurant followed suit.

"I thought it was just something the restaurant did but I noticed people were winking at me and then I saw Pharrell. I knew straight away it was him. At first I thought he was there for Lauren but he was saying 'come here Holly, I don't bite'.

"Pharrell was lovely. He is my absolute idol. He is my hero. He does a lot of charity work. He was very down to earth."

Miss Addison, who now lives in Liverpool, was enjoying a meal at The Fable in London when the Happy hit maker Pharrell surprised her in June.

It has been a difficult last few years for the former Walton High School pupil. In February 2013 her father Gary died from an aggressive form of brain cancer.

Since he passed away she has raised £7,000 for charities including Katharine House Hospice in Stafford and Cancer Research in memory of the former West Midlands Police officer who was based in Wednesfield.

She said: "It was all quite sudden. He was diagnosed 18 months earlier and then died in February 2013. Me and my dad were very close."

Miss Addison, who graduated from Liverpool Institute Performing Arts in July, said she would be watching the show on Wednesday at 8pm with her friends.
