A brace or hat-trick better still - but that wasn't enough for this young super striker.

The 10-year-old Aston Villa fan managed to bag himself an incredible nine goals during a game that only lasted nine minutes at a football tournament.

And he was wearing the number nine on the back of his shirt.

Despite his team failing to win the contest, Reiss's teacher Paul Mobberley at Chase View School in Rugeley said he was amazed at the youngster's unique achievement.

The PE co-ordinator said: "It was in our first game that Reiss scored his nine goals. He scored them all with his foot.

"Some were long distance shots, others came at the end of a team move.

"He had the game of his life. How many would he have scored if it had been a regular school match of 20 minutes each way?

"I have been doing school football for many years and I've never seen a player score nine goals in a match."

Around 20 schools took part in the six-a-side tournament at the Festival of Sport and Enjoyment at Rugeley Leisure Centre on June 27.

The match in which Reiss scored nine goals against Hazel Slade Primary School in Cannock finished 9-0.

The youngster's mother Colette Walters, aged 42, was at the tournament to see her son score nine goals.

She said: "It was pouring down with rain and we were all getting soaked. I was really proud of Reiss. He's football mad and he's very talented. He's either playing it or watching it on TV.

"He's won loads of trophies to do with football over the years. He's loved watching the World Cup."
