The mother of three and grandmother of five has written a poem encouraging people to support the squad.

She hopes it will stir up patriotism so the team bring the cup home.

She said: "I am a football fan and I always have been. I absolutely love the World Cup because it is one of the biggest tournaments there is and it lasts all summer.

"Lots of people are very negative about England and I don't think that's fair because the players really try hard so I wrote the poem in order for people to get behind them instead of criticising them."

Mrs Mason, from Stirling Crescent in Summer Hayes, Willenhall, is an avid Wolves supporter and will watch the games with her family and friends.

She started writing poems 20 years ago and her first one about her paper boy was published in the Express & Star.

"If England win the World Cup you can expect another poem all about how great they are and how proud we should all be."

Come On England

Oh!! How I hate the pessimism

Of some England footie support

Instead of all the negative remarks

Give incentive not damned retorts

Four weeks of world footie games

Yes! four weeks of bliss

I'll be rootin for em

There's not one game I'm gonna miss

Roy's lads could really do us proud

When you look down the list

Some top names are in there

With others I have missed

Our midfield need some beating

Lampard, Chamberlain and Wilshire

The super captain Steven Gerrard

These the oppo's should fear

Defenders Baines, Cahill, Johnson

Jones and Luke Shaw to start

And I just cant wait to see the antics

of our brilliant goalie Joe Hart

Forwards super Rickie Lambert

A favourite of mine

Welbeck, Sturridge and Wayne Rooney

A fantastic forward line

My heart goes out to England

To win would be just brill

Yes I know there's great opposition

Argentina, Germany and the host Brazil

I'll not rule out myself Brazil

Or even Italy

But I have high hopes for our lads

We'll just have to wait and see

My best friend just hates footie

She really is a pain

She always thinks the game should stop

If it starts to rain

And then I have some other mates

Who are just footie ravers

If they don't agree with refs decisions

They shout ''hey ref go to Specsavers

Yes I'll be screamin' "come on England

Show us all those skilfull tricks"

Then who knows we may see a repeat

Of 1966.
