Talbot Truck & Trailers is moving its base from Willenhall to Wednesfield following a three-year search for a new site.

The move will create 25 full time and 20 part time jobs, bosses say. Plans have now been approved by Wolverhampton City Council. The new base on a former industrial piece of land in Seamless Drive will include parking for 30 vehicles, storage units and a security building.

Steve Parkes, spokesman for the firm, said today: "We will be moving from our current premises in Bilston Lane. We haven't made the move just yet.

"We are hoping it will be in the next few weeks. The firm will be expanding as a result."

Mr Parkes said the past 12 months had been a successful period for the truck and trailer repair business, which was founded 18 years ago. The firm is owned by Andrew Talbot.

In plans to Wolverhampton City Council, Mr Talbot, said: "The application is for a use compatible with the employment area and will maintain as well as improve the continuity and viability of the business alongside the economic and employment benefit it brings." The new base is 1.25 acres in size.

Last month engineering consultancy Wintech announced it was moving its HQ from Wednesfield to Cannock. Bosses at Wintech wanted to build bigger premises at Kingswood Lakeside in Hickling Road.
