There has been a big jump in those planning winter sports holidays this winter.
Of those taking a break in the coming months, 15% are opting for skiing and snowboarding holidays, according to a survey by travel organisation Abta.
This compares with a figure of just 10% in a similar survey this time last year.
Although ski-trip breaks are on the up, winter sun holidays are the most popular, making up 40% of the planned winter 2013/14 trips.
Top destinations for those wanting to get away from the cold of a British winter are the Canary Islands, followed by Greece, Malta and Tunisia.
Long-haul top spots include the Caribbean, Mexico and Dubai, while popular city-break destinations include Amsterdam, Bru ges, Prague, Berlin and New York.
W hile winter sun destinations are particularly popular with 55-64 year olds, ski breaks are being snapped up mainly by those aged 16 to 24.
Resorts in France, Italy and Austria remain the most popular destinations, with the top spots being the French resorts of Espace Killy and Trois Vallees, Sauze d'Oulx in Italy and the Austrian resorts of Kitzbuhel and St Anton.
A total of 2,008 consumers took part in the survey.
