The digital marketing agency, led by MD Andy Hill, received recognition for their proprietary advertising platform Insight and customer facing product Enquire.

MNA Digital was up against stiff competition, with other finalists including AppNexus, Initiative & Cadreon, Rubicon Project, Teads and The Telegraph.

The award is made to a company which can "demonstrate the smartest and most commercially successful use of advertising technology".

Andy said he was pleased that the online arm of Express & Star publisher Midland News Association had received industry recognition.

He said: "I am delighted for the team that MNA Digital's work has been recognised at a national level with this award win.

"It is fantastic for everyone involved that we have been honoured in this way.

"The Insight Platform and Enquire Package helps small and medium sized businesses grow their businesses through more effective digital marketing.

"To be in the running with finalists like the Telegraph was impressive enough but to win shows the quality of the team working on our digital marketing platforms."

In their entry submission, the team reported that their product had seen a 89% increase in subscription revenues year on year as well as allowing the replacement of manual reports with fully automated client reports.

The MNA Digital team also said they could now offer advertisers support from "sales capturing campaign objectives to fulfilment and client reporting".

Andy said: "From a customer perspective they get transparent reporting and simple metrics, such as volume of calls, length of calls to monitor quality plus microsite traffic and engagement metrics. As a result our customers have a much clearer understanding of their return on investment and have a pre-agreed success metric that they can measure us against."

He added that Insight/Enquire product also allows to use call tracking in MNA print ads, which has shown that "print classified adverts can deliver more enquiries than PPC for some categories of customers, giving our classified teams valuable performance data".
