The giant fashion and home store was approved in March of last year and the company's new premises has been built from scratch after the old store was demolished last year .

The building, on the Queens Retail Park, is 34,000 square feet (3158 square meters) and features dramatic windows running the height of the building.

The new extended 'dual format' store sells womenswear, menswear and childrenswear, as well as a Next Home store, selling furniture and home furnishing goods. Twenty-seven jobs have been created at the new shop.

The store will also have separate entrances for the fashion departments and the home range. The new extended store will also include a cafe.

The company had originally wanted to include a garden store in the new build, but even with the giant site, there was not enough room to accommodate an external garden centre.

Other big name stores already on the retail park include Boots, Asda and Matalan.
