Lucy Cashmore, who has near two decades experience of working in the recruitment industry in the Black Country, said: "Above all else, we aim to provide a fair, professional and personal service that meet the highest ethical standards. This applies both to employer clients, who need value for money, and candidates who need to be treated fairly and with respect."

Born in Smethwick and brought up in the area, Lucy says she is bringing both her local knowledge and here accumulated experience of the Black Country's employment sector to her new role. She is also driving renewed focus in the business, concentrating on the white collar and high-end blue collar section of the market: "This is an area where there is strong demand and where we feel the skill-set at Stars Employment is particularly well-suited."

The business was launched in January 2013 by its parent company, Midlands News Association – publisher of the Express & Star. Since then, said Lucy, it has built a growing reputation of placing high calibre staff, both temporary and permanent, with local employers. Operating from offices in Queen Street, Wolverhampton, the business is now gearing up for a busy time as companies increase their efforts to find the right staff.
