The new jobs at Oak House, Johns Lane, Dudley Port, include registered nurses, an occupational therapy team incorporating an assistant psychiatrist and support, administration and maintenance staff.

The new home, which is owned and operated by Camino Healthcare, opened last month with the support of Yorkshire Bank.

The purpose-built home provides care and rehabilitation for adults with mental health and learning disability issues. It can accommodate up to 14 adults within two six-bed units and two large specialist bedsits which have been designed to meet the needs of residents who may require one-to-one care.

Other facilities include a family visiting room, an IT suite, an arts and crafts room and a cinema room.

Care is tailored to meet the needs of individuals, with residents encouraged to take an active role in their recovery in order to promote self-help and independent living.

Camino Healthcare, founded in 2010, also operates Cromwell House, a 14-bed specialist home in West Bromwich.

The company said it plans to develop four more facilities across the West Midlands over the next few years, creating over 250 jobs in total.

Oliver Horsey, chief executive of Camino Healthcare, said: "Oak House's modern facilities and structured care are designed to enable individuals with severe mental health and learning disability problems to recover and gain their independence.

"Over the next few years, we plan to develop a number of units across the West Midlands as we strongly believe that people with mental health illnesses benefit from being looked after closer to their homes and families within their own community.

"Yorkshire Bank supports this vision and is working in partnership with Camino Healthcare to help us achieve our goals."

Richard Wallace, Head of Yorkshire Bank's Regional Business and Private Banking Centre in Birmingham, said: "Camino Healthcare specialises in offering a safe and supportive environment for people making the transition from acute and secure care.

"It is extremely rewarding to know that through our funding, there will be a real and positive impact for the local community, as well as for the local economy through the creation of a significant number of jobs."
