Members of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce Platinum group were able to see Britain’s biggest selling local newspaper coming off the presses during a visit to the Express & Star.

The visitors were then given a guided tour of the press hall at the MNA’s Telford publishing centre by operations director Graeme Clifford.
Business editor Simon Penfold gave a presentation on how local businesses could put themselves forward for editorial coverage, advertising manager Kim Hazel talked about marketing options and social media editor Mike Woods explained how the company utilised Facebook and Twitter.
The guests included Jason Parker, joint managing director of Thomas Dudley Ltd; Paul Cowley, head of corporate affairs, AF Blakemore; CSCM managing director Jude Thompson; Bob Dunthorne, group marketing manager of Hadley Industries; Richard Allen, marketing and business development director of Metsec and Tracy Messer, marketing manager of Wedge Group Galvanizing.

Brand and communications manager Chris Leggett said: “We were delighted so many colleagues from the chamber could join us.
“With so many shared interests around improving the economy in the region, it was a chance for us to showcase the business and its positive influence within the communities it serves.”
