Helen Cook and Becky Hewitt, owners of Merry Maids Sutton Coldfield, are now looking to recruit two new members of staff to cope with the increase in demand for their services.

Since taking over the domestic cleaning business in 2011, they have trebled the number of customers and are planning to expand the business from its current customer base in Sutton Coldfield and Lichfield, to Tamworth and the surrounding areas.

Mrs Cook said: "Reliable, trustworthy and skilled cleaners are in high demand and we've received huge volumes of enquiries for our services, both from the areas we currently serve and from further afield.

By extending our team, we'll be able to expand the business into new locations and meet this demand."

Merry Maids of Sutton Coldfield is a family-run business, with Mrs Cook being an integral part of the business since her mother purchased the franchise in 1999. Mrs Hewitt began working for the business in 2010 and the businesswomen soon became firm friends.

"When we took over the business we immediately set about implementing our business plan to expand our customer base, while provide the first class service to all of our customers, many of whom have been clients for over 10 years.

"The expansion of the business has been incredible and it has certainly been a challenge to manage all the enquiries.

"We're extremely proud of the success of Merry Maids Sutton Coldfield and are excited to be expanding the business further," said Mrs Cook.

As part of the Merry Maids network, they have access to support that is unavailable to most start-ups.
