Poundland to take over Lichfield bargain shop

A new Poundland store is to open in Lichfield, taking over another bargain shop weeks after it closed.
The Willenhall-based company will be taking over The Hub shop in the Three Spires Shopping Centre.
The Hub – run by Poundland co-founder David Dodd – went into liquidation last month after bosses admitted they could not compete with the huge buying power of established discount shops.
It also had branches in Stafford, Telford and Manchester, and 57 jobs were lost.
