Jaguar Land Rover Solihull site in line for extension
Wednesday 26th October 2011, 11:29AM BST.
Jaguar Land Rover today unveiled plans for a major redevelopment to extend a Midlands production line in anticipation of future growth.
The luxury car giant wants to extend one of its Land Rover production lines at its Solihull manufacturing plant. Bosses would not be drawn on how much was being invested in the expansion plans or whether any new jobs would be created.
But they say detailed planning applications will be submitted by Christmas.
It comes weeks after JLR confirmed plans to build a £355 million engine plant at the i54 site on the border of Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire. The firm could not say whether the planned extension would have any knock-on effect on those plans at this stage.
