Diamond Bathrooms Ltd shuts without any warning
Wednesday 1st September 2010, 11:30AM BST.
Mystery today surrounded the future of a Dudley bathrooms firm after it shut with no warning.
Diamond Bathrooms Ltd, based on the Pedmore Road Trading Estate in Brierley Hill, is now standing empty.
Director Clive Tibbetts and senior partner Alan Kitching, were not at the premises and could not be contacted today. Customers have been left clueless about what has happened to their orders and landlord Brian Higginson claims he is owed money but cannot contact anyone.
“They told me they were going and left the keys behind about a month ago, he said.
“The only contact I ever had with them was the number and the address of the business so I don’t know how to get hold of them now they’re not here”
“I am waiting to see if receivers are appointed to the company. Diamond Bathrooms should be letting me know who that is soon if they are.
“I have taken charge of the building as I don’t want the property to be damaged.
“They’ve not done anything wrong as far as I’m concerned, it may be just yet another example of a company failing.
“The place is empty now – just a few bits of rubbish lying around.
“If I knew where they were I would get in touch with them myself, but I don’t. I imagine the receivers will get in touch with myself and any other creditors, he said.”
One customer, John Sanderson, said he had placed an order with Diamond Bathrooms two to three months ago, but had not heard from or been able to contact them for three weeks.
“Their phone just rings with no answer phone message or anything. I had given them the benefit of the doubt thinking they might close down for an annual holiday but still no one is answering the phone,” he said.
“If you now try and order on their website, which is still available, a “catalogue suspended” message comes up.”
Neither Mr Tibbetts nor Mr Kitching could be contacted for comment today.
