The Women in Business Expo event was organised by Walsall-based Headz Up Business, which delivers business training, networking and conferences.

Around 320 people attended the event where inspirational awards were also handed out to firms that have helped to support women. It also raised money and awareness for educational charity, Women Acting in Today's Society.

Mother-of-three Pushpa Alexander, who launched Headz Up Business in 2010, said: "Women's work has dramatically changed over the past 100 years. Roles have changed and digital technology means we can have a flexible working life environment.

"The event was to connect like-minded women. There was the chance to network and exhibition stalls.

"There was a fashion show feature where some image consultant experts gave tips about how to maximise their look and boost confidence."

Mrs Alexander, of Willenhall, added: "There's people out there who will help women get to their goals.

"It was also about changing mindsets. You can still run a business from home. There were women there who were running businesses who had families."
