Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

A double dose of music magic
Friday 9th December 2011, 10:19AM GMT.
I woke up this morning and immediately carried out my usual routine: radio on, cup of tea, scroll through Facebook, and scroll through Twitter, writes James Carpenter.
A trending topic was ‘TFI Friday’, when I looked closer it was merely people exclaiming how happy they were about the weekend – fair enough. It just so happens that Ocean Colour Scene are performing at the Wolves Civic tonight and one of their biggest hits ‘The Riverboat Song’ used to be the music played on the TV show to bring on the guests. What a coincidence.
If you’re going to the gig later, I’ll see you there. In fact, I’ve tried desperately to find my copy of their 1996 album ‘Moseley Shoals’ but can’t for the life of me find it anywhere, so downloading it is. Reminisce my friends here.
And if the Wolves Civic couldn’t get any better, the other side tonight at The Wulfrun is 80s legend ‘Adam Ant’ – brilliant. Enjoy.
How is your Christmas shopping going? Because my wife is so organised when it comes to this. I began at the end of November and I’m pretty much sorted – a mix of buying in the shop and online. This weekend would be a good reason to go into Wolverhampton because you’ll have plenty of activity to either occupy your kids or accompany your shopping.
The Choir & Brass Festival begins in Queen Square at 11am with our Beacon stage. There will be fun rides along with appearances from Bart Simpson and Scooby Doo, plus the schools performing too. Please do come and say hello and enjoy the festive performances which will go on until 4pm, tomorrow.
Finally, I’d just like to say good luck to two pals of mine who have recently opened up new restaurants in the area. Wolves legend Steve Bull now runs Bravaccio’s in Tettenhall, and despite not being able to go on the opening launch night, I plan to go soon – if you’ve been, any thoughts? Also, best wishes to Frank Cochran of FSC Investments who is part of the new La Salsa restaurant in the centre of Wolverhampton; it opens today.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the football, another massive weekend of sport! Don’t forget Beacon has both Wolves and the Baggies games live on the Goalzone.
