Our Beacon blogger’s Black Country week
Thursday 26th May 2011, 11:59PM BST.
Being able to do two jobs at one time can only be a good thing, right? Well if the picture above is anything to go by then I think that a new job has just been created – a Pilate’s photographer!
Because I think that everyone needs someone to takes photos of you whilst you hold awkward positions writes James Carpenter of Beacon Radio.
Yesterday I went to Himley Hall to have a photo taken for ‘Walk of the Black Country’, Beacon’s charity fundraiser for Promise Dreams on 19th June.
The Express and Star photographer asked us to each lift a leg and lean on each other whilst smiling at the camera. This was not only a good workout, but we had pictures taken to raise awareness of the event at the same time.
Big thanks if you’ve signed up to take part as we have over 3,000 people taking part!

Unlike the job I do of talking and pushing buttons, the job you do, probably involves some form of taxing on your body?
I had another taste of real work yesterday as I was invited to cook for a bunch of people at the newly refurbished ‘Fellows Ale House and Grill’ in Dudley.
The owners George and Shane are aware that I like to cook and slung me in the kitchen to slave over an evening of cooking, which I have to say, was a real eye opener!
I can now see what created the temperaments of Marco Pierre White and Gordon Ramsey. I really enjoyed myself and if you ever get the chance to try their burrito, then do – they’re amazing!

Whether you like it or not, there is no escaping the Cowell machine of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
Actually I have escaped it, in the sense that I have chosen not to watch it, but I was recently contacted by local lad ‘Cal Halbert’ who was commenting on a subject about people you saw before they became famous.
Cal said he’d like to be one of those people that they say it about, as he is appearing on the show. Since then, Cal has made it through to the next round and you can see him talking about his experience along with his mean Chris Tarrant impression, in the video above.

Last week – at this point in the blog – I was writing about the possibility of Wolves staying up.
I’m pleased now at this stage once again to see that they managed to do so – what a day!
I see the club have wasted no time in taking up the pitch and demolishing the Stan Cullis Stand, but it’s great news for everyone involved with the club and nice to see both the Baggies and Wolves playing in the highest league once again next season.
All the best,
James x
