Ignore winter – the spring’s the thing

The golden rule of climate change is that you must not use weather to predict climate – unless it is the right kind of weather, writes Peter Rhodes.
Thus, the coldest December in memory was airily dismissed by the experts as a mere blip.
But this dry spring, we are darkly warned by environment minister Lord Henley, is “a snapshot of what we might expect from climate change.”
(Then again, it could just be a dry spring).
