Never in the club's 127-year history had the Saddlers walked down Wembley way, but a 2-0 defeat to Bristol City ended the day on a damp squib.

It's was the biggest game Walsall had been involved in since the third-tier play-off final of 2001, where they beat Reading 3-2 at the Millennium Stadium.
