Albion leading scorer Chris Brunt believes the Baggies can smash the 100 goals barrier for the third time in four seasons.
Roberto Di Matteo’s men are on course to reach three figures, after notching up another four at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
Six-goal Brunt reckons they can match Tony Mowbray’s centurions, who reached 100 goals in all competitions in two successive seasons.
He said: “I think anything’s possible with this squad of players. We can score from everywhere. Simon Cox got two, which is good, and Jerome Thomas as well.
“It must be fairly scary for defences watching us in the Championship. Luke Moore put a great shift in too, but things don’t seem to be falling for him but if he keeps getting chances then he’ll start putting them away.
“Credit to him, he’s working his socks off and pulling people away to allow me and Jerome to get forward.”
Brunt’s goal edged him one clear of Thomas in the race to be the Baggies’ leading scorer, and the Northern Ireland international is now eyeing his best ever goalscoring season.
He said: “I got 10 in my last season at Sheffield Wednesday, so it would be nice to hit double figures.
“But we create enough chances for maybe six or seven players to get into double figures, so we will see what happens.
“There’s no competition. We don’t care who scores as long as we get promoted. If Jerome gets 20 and I get only five or 10 then I don’t mind – as long as we go up.”
But Brunt is urging the second-placed Baggies to stay level-headed and warned it will be difficult for them and leaders Newcastle to open up a gap on the chasing pack.
He said: “It doesn’t tend to happen too often in the Championship. It’s the nature of the division. I hope we can do that but we will see what happens. It’s a very competitive league.”

being ultra critical about saturday if they had pushed forward a little bit more in the second half they could have reached double figures. Agree with brunt that moore played very very well and the partnership with cox is looking promising.

….and I understand that the Wolves have been set a similar target…..for goals against.
Life dodesn’t get much better than this.

Our last promotion was achieved by the team scoring goals from all over the pitch… and its great to see the lads doing it again.
I admit I was worried about the lack of a true goal poacher up front, but Cox is starting to look the part. It may be hard for Bednar and Miller (when fit) to get a game if he carries on like this.

i think we could easily get 100 goals, the only thing that bugs me is thet when we are 3 or 4 nil up, they just sit back and stroll around when they can go on and score 6 if they wanted
not trying to sound nevative, just something we can do more,
also i have been very impressed with the back 4, its a lot better than when mowbray was the gaffer!

With 46 league games plus cup matches to play, I’m quite happy for us to take our foot off the pedal at 4-0 up and save our legs a bit, if it means we’ll keep winning 4-0!!

Sometimes you can humiliate a team, (Spurs 9 Wigan 1), without the opposition losing it and lashing out. A bit risky in the Championship maybe. Sometimes you settle for what you have and keep a full squad, ease off the trigger, stay in one piece. Not bad when you’re 4-0 up, AWAY!

I’d be happy with just 28 more goals this season in the league…..as long as they’re all in 1 – 0 win’s to the Albion that is!!

No1. Ultra critical? For God´s sake, they were 3 up at half time. It´s a long season, and despite what some may say, we´re talking about athletes here. There´s only so much in the tank after you´ve done the business at the half-way stage of a game. Add that to Cyrils´ point(8) of possible opposition retribution, I´m more than happy with 4-0 (away) in the end.

I have but one grouse about last Saturday. Ah wor theer! Positives: Cox got two, being in the right place at the right time. Two excellent wingers got one each. The defence let none in. The midfield were superb. Negatives:…….
Just do something similar against Derby and my cup runneth over.

To Brummie Roader Ryan (4) You are probably too young to remember, but last time we went up, we actually had the most clean sheets in the Championship – beating Wolves by 1 I seem to remember – Kiely got an award for it.
