Albion hit by injury crisis

ALBION 23 SL 20 Albion have been hit by an injury crisis ahead of their Championship trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

Midfield trio Jerome Thomas, Filipe Teixeira and Robert Koren have joined Joe Mattock in the treatment room, with all four doubtful for the visit to Hillsborough.

Head coach Roberto Di Matteo must now wait on the trio ahead of the game.

He said: “Joe Mattock will be a major doubt. We still have some time, but he is in pain so it doesn’t look too good.

“Jerome Thomas has a little strain in his back and Koren has a hernia problem. He is seeing a consultant surgeon so we will know a little bit more about it later. Filipe Teixeira has a thigh problem.”
