Wolves crashed to their joint biggest defeat in two and a half years and dropped into the Premier League relegation zone for the first time against Arsenal.
Two own goals from Ronald Zubar on 28 and Jody Craddock on 35, plus one from Cesc Fabregas in first half injury-time, sentenced Wolves to their sixth reverse of the season.
It was their biggest drubbing since Mick McCarthy’s men lost 6-0 to Southampton on 31 March 2007.
The margin of defeat matched the 5-2 loss at Norwich on October 21 last year.
Andrei Arshavin added a fourth goal on 66 to underline the Gunners’ superiority – their 55th goal in 19 games this season.
Jody Craddock ensured Wolves left with a consolation on 89 by heading home substitute Matt Jarvis’s corner for his third of the season – which makes him the club’s joint leading scorer with Kevin Doyle.
Wolves were left rueing what might have been after a bright start when they were the better side for the first 20 minutes, and twice could have taken the lead.
The recalled Sylvan Ebanks-Blake headed inches wide from a corner from Nenad Milijas, who was making his first start since September 12.
Milijas was the architect again eight minutes later when he found Christophe Berra unmarked in the box, but the Scotland international’s momentum had carried him too far and he could only succeed in heading the ball backwards.
Wolves were made to pay in the 28th minute, when Arsenal took the lead with the first of two own goals, Zubar’s thigh diverting the ball past Wayne Hennessey, who misjudged Fabregas’s corner.
The Gunners doubled their lead in the next attack with another own goal, this time the ball going in off Craddock from Eduardo’s chip that was going wide, after Wolves were guilty of getting sucked in to the ball to leave Arsenal two on one against their oldest player.
Arsenal wrapped up the half with another show of clinical brilliance when Fabregas drove home his ninth goal of the season, after Eduardo’s pass left him in the clear at the end of a sweeping move started when Milijas’s pass was blocked by the referee.
Then came Arshavin’s strike, a drive from just inside the box, when Milijas failed to get enough on his challenge after Hennessey punched clear Fabregas’s flag-kick.
The rest of the game was played out at a leisurely pace as Arsenal, who were the first visitors to score three or more at Molineux since Norwich on February 3, protected their lead and Wolves were unable to find a way through.
It was a leisurely backdrop as Wolves fans remained firmly behind their team to the last whistle, chanting boss Mick McCarthy’s name and even trying to start a Mexican wave.
McCarthy dropped George Elokobi from the 18 after his recent struggles, with Richard Stearman making his first start at left back.
But it made little difference to the outcome.

I never expected to win but to concede 4 goals is embarrasing! I said we should have gone 4-5-1 and flooded the midfield. Mick was a fool for thinking we could match them man for man by playing 4-4-2.
I expect a similar result at Chelsea. However, all will be forgotton if the next home fixtures against Blues, Bolton and Burnley wield nine points.
If they don’t, then it’s a new manager for me in January, we can’t afford to go down and at present, irrespective of the fact Mick got us promoted, his record as a premiership manager is awful.
Also, why does Zubar (a left footed centre back) play right back and Stearman ( a right footed centre back) play left back? At the very least shouldn’t they be swapped around? Not that it would have mattered, we were completely outclassed today anyway.
But like I said ultimately we will be judged against the lesser teams, so lets get it right in time for Blues!

a loss against a (not that brilliant) Arsenal side was expected, but in such manner was disgraceful. cant think of any positives whatsoever we just had so little quality to our play.
Not sure where to go from here, or how we avoid a repeat at Chelsea, but I do know this – if we dont add some serious proven quality to the squad in Jan its BACK TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP.
it’s easier to balance those books with Sky’s Premiership money Jez.

well what can i say, arsenal ripped through us, it was over by halftime. I am glad most wolves fans, the real wolves fans stayed till the end, but alot of people left early!! pat on the back for the fans who stayed and supported the lads till the end well done and boo to the leavers, go support west brom or stoke or something we dont need you at wolves!!!
Lessons learned today, we dont have any quality , and we cant be dropping points to teams around us like portsmouth, hull, west ham, blackburn etc. Thats what is costing us. We cant expect to compete with the top 4 as we arent spending and investing in quality-premier league players.
Mick for god sake sort it out!!! and Moxey get out!!! bring in some quality for gods sake, Kightly, ebanks, jarvis, halford, elokobi, cant play in this league.
2million on halford what a waste of money mick , mairhofer is rubbish aswell another waste of money.
This club needs to sort it out and buy some quality, we havent got the time to gamble on the players above, come january if we havent spent money on some skillfull players then i wont be renewing my season ticket. MOXEY IF YOU ARENT WILLING TO SPEND THEN I AINT WILLING TO RENEW MY S.TICKET regardless of us staying up or not, simple as!

saw the game on espn. For 25 mins we played very well.had a few chances. Berra missed the best one with a free header that he managed to head away from the goal?? We cant defend crosses and corners and the second corner, Hennessey does not come and its one nil and 3 nil before you could blink. SEB was non existant up front and should have been taken off at half time. Doyle was the best player on the pitch for us, just kept working but had zero support. Also Henry, craddock did well.Milijas is still our best creative player but struggles defensively and we dont have enough in the squad to cover for him. This was against one of the best teams in europe, but I think were still lacking in defence and up front. MM needs to look for another striker who can hold the ball up, a left back, and someone who can cross from the right.

A lot better teams will be thumped by Arsenal, but that is not the reason we are in the bottom three. The reason we are in the bottom three is because we haven’t taken points where we should have. We lost at home to Portsmouth, we lost at home to West Ham, we drew at home to Hull.
We couldn’t have wished for a better fixture list to start the season with, and yet we flunked it. Now the more difficult games are coming thick and fast and we haven’t got the buffer we should have created with those early games.
Tell me this. How are we SEVEN points behind Burnley, who, it could be argued have had a more difficult start than us?
No, we are not in the bottom three because we got stuffed by Arsenal, we are there because of broken promises by Morgan and Moxey, who, if you remember, said we won’t make the same mistake as West Brom by not investing enough on Premier League players. We are there because our top scorer is Jody Craddock.
I was really proud of the team tonight because they gave everything, they did us fans proud, but the truth is, they are simply not good enough for this division.
Are Morgan and Moxey guilty of not putting up the money or is it down to McCarthy for not spending it? I don’t know. But what I do know is that us Wolves fans have been let down badly once again.
That’s why we’re in the bottom three.

We started brightly but eventually lost to a much better team. You can’t knock the lads for trying as they gave their all but in the end quality was the difference. It’s disappointing that we are in the bottom 3 for the first time and it looks like we might be there for a few weeks as Chelsea are up next… I still feel confident that we will stay up but I think we are seriously lacking creativity in midfield. The January window will come round shortly though – let’s hope we can get some quality in.

Well it was always going to be a tall order against a side like Arsenal. The class gap was huge though the first 20 minutes we had them under pressure and we had a great chance with a header. Not taken unfortunately, then poor defending let us down and Arsenal never looked like loosing it there on and they never really looked out of first gear. We were too static most of the time and seemed a bit of loss going forward, a number of players didn’t show any hunger for the ball, no desire to get people into the box, like Ebanks-Blake didn’t or couldn’t get to Doyle’s cross that only needed a tap in, the same scenario happened in the second half where Edwards put in a excellent cross to a box with no wolves players.
Doyle stood out from this game and he didn’t have much support, I got stick for what I written about Blake after the West Ham game but sorry he doesn’t look up to the job at this level. In the second half David Edwards was much better when he was switched into central midfield, making the kind of runs needed to give players who could pick out a pass an option i.e. Milijas. Jarvis looked sharp when he came on, he certainly offered more than Kightly did.
The best thing from this was the crowd they were fantastic even when we were 4 – 0 down, brilliant support. Full of voice kind of like the time we were being beaten by Southampton a few seasons back.

Arsenal too good for us.Let’s hope Wolves can learn some lessons from this game.
Now in the bottom three. While it is early days, those dropped points at home to Hull & Portsmouth could be costly in the long run.

Just a quick note for the usual moaning muppets it was the same score they beat the best side in Holland by so get back in your boxes this result means nowt. Our season will not be determined by our games against the top 6 sides! First twenty mins were great but when we didn’t score it was inevitable Arsenal would punish us, they are world class

Ok so we got a slapping from the in form quality Arsenal. If any team were to give us a true lesson in football & clinical finishing it would have to Wenger classy side. At least it wasn’t 1-6 like Everton. I didn’t see the game as I’m working remote but I’m sure the fans will have their say, but did we do much wrong. We have to feel for Zubar & Jody for OG’s, & Hennessy. It good to read the fans stayed with the team right to the end. We will get another football lesson against Chelsea but as long as we stay strong & don’t let our heads drop through lack of confidence we should be ok. That’s over to you Merlin Mick! We have to do the deed against the three B’s, B’ham, Bolton & Burnley if we don’t get 9 points against them then I fear we are doomed. It will be case then of who will stay with us in the CCC. Mick show the team the quality of Arsenal as that is what we have to aspire to. Good luck boys against Chelsea.

lets be fair arsenal were unbelievable, they are hammering everyone at the moment.

Good effort in the first half hour but once Arsenal got into their stride there was only going to be one winner.Hennesey has GOT to command his penalty area guilty for caused two of their goals I think its time he was given a run in the reserves too hesitant in regards to coming for crosses and this unnerves the back four. Our forward line is not up to Premier League standard must get a target man we are far too short up front and too one dimensional.

I enjoyed Moxey’s rendering of the “Good Life” the other day. The bit about spending nought and staying in the Premiership. Sounds just about the ticket to remind us of the last debacle when we managed to go up.
In fairness Arsenal have a Premiership team and we have lads more used to kicking a can around the yard. What could we expect? what we got a total thrashing.
Ok so we were totally outclassed yesterday but games against the ‘big 4′ are not the ones we need to worry about! The gap in class is similar to Brazil playing Luxembourg but these games will not decide our Premier League future, it is the games against the others that matter the most.
Disappointing is not the word for yesterdays defeat but let’s not get too despondent. Arsenal are a class side and no matter how many fans believed we could ‘turn them over’, the truth is now known, we could not and cannot!
Obviously we need to tighten up in midfield as opposing teams are getting to our back line far too easily. We need to add some steel there but do we have those type of players at the club? – well only Mick McCarthy knows and if we don’t then we must plod on until January when we can bring in reinforcements.
The aim this season is to obtain as many points as possible from the teams in the middle to bottom of the table, do that and we will survive but the top 4? – forget trying to pinch points from them, it is unlikely we are good enough but we can all hope can’t we?
So Chelsea up next and a possible repeat of yesterday looms unless perhaps we play 5 men in midfield and 1 up front. Yes I know this is negative but if we cannot win, we must keep the goals conceded down, this could play a big, big part come the seasons end.
Keep your heads up lads, it is a long season and there are many points up for grabs, so we must make sure we grab what we can, when we can!

Reality check. We are still just a good newly promoted championship side trying to survive the first year in the top flight. The gulf between us and the top of the top is huge. Let’s face it on paper if you look at the value of the Arsenal side to the value of ours we should have lost 10-0. But that does not mean we give up we fight on just making sure we survive and pocket next year’s money and build a bit more. Even if we are run very well it would still take 10 years to get to be one of the best consistently. We will survive and go on to be better and bigger but it’s going to take a lot of patients and a few more drummings.
P.S. Watched it on ESPN and even thou we where well on the way to be being between i thought the Wolves fans where awsome. You did them proud. Stick with it and you will be rewarded.

The difference in class between us and a team that has won nothing in recent years was really embarassing.
We are better off being back in the Fizzy Pop League where we can compete every 3 or 4 years.
Mark my words this team WILL NOT STAY UP.
We just have to hope they get Premier 2 going soon and hope we can survive in that league.
It was like watching sunday league v football league.
Finally MOXEY, you said ”we wont do an Albion”
Could you explain what you meant please? because we will be in the same position as Albion were last season, bottom of the league at the end of November.

For cying out load! I cannot believe that anyone expected anything from this game other than a right tonking. Did anyone watch Arsenal against AZ in mid-week?
A great effort from the lads to keep the scoreline relatively respectible and Craddock’s late goal could prove very valuable in terms of GD at the end of the season. Some of you lot make me ashamed to be a Wolves supporter – but lets face it you ain’t offering much in the way of support!
This season was never going to be a walk in the park so get behind the lads and stop whinging. You’re all probably too young to remember the Div 4 days – sad products of the Hayward millions, the Wolves spoilt brat army! Pathetic.

A predictable result as it will be with the other top clubs, but we must start winning our important games and not give cheap points away to our rivals lower down in the league.
I am not Mick McCarthy’s greatest fan by any means but I don’t see that replacing him will help the situation, what we do need is stronger technical support from an old head in the no.2 spot.
It is as it always was, going to be a struggle without proper investment in playing staff although we have some good young and hungry’s, only 1 or 2 will be good enough to cope so early in their careers with the pace of this Division.
I hate to say it and I am sure I will be slated for it, but I think promotion came a year or two too early for the younger players and indeed the owner of the club all of which are still trying to find their feet.
it was embarrasing to say the least. We had no answer for their slick movement and greater overall intelligence.
I think the lads did their best and if nothing else, at least we could see which of our players can cut it at this level. Unfortunately, Sylvan, Kights and Stears dont look to have the quality yet to step up a division. Berra had a bad game and his positioning was awful. Henry, though tidy, doesnt have the box to box dynamism needed of the modern PL midfielder.
Our best player was Doyle who ran his socks off but didnt have any support throughout the game.
Milijas reminds me of Paul Cook. He can deliver a good ball but is not dynamic enough overwise. He adds to the team by being neat and tidy but Glen Hoddle he aint.
I have said this time and time again; with our limited players we need to keep it tight, keep energy levels high so that they cant get into a rhythm and hopefully score on set-pieces. This “in your face” type of football is the proven style of limited teams and the quicker we realise that this is what we are then the sooner we’ll stop losing. Wimbledon, and lately with Stoke and Hull is the proof.
We just cannot compete in the skill factor with the players we got against this type of “footballing” team.
Watched it on ESPN…well the first half.
We started well but lacked a finishing touch…except for the other team.
Were Craddock and Zubar playing for Arsenal??? Especially Zubar’s own goal….that was truly dreadful defending. Craddock may have been unfortunate but that is poor defending.
All the real Wolves fans have been saying that Muppet Mick should have bought some defenders…and we were right. Muppet Mick is wrong. You don’t go into this league without someone who can defend well.
Two own goals in ONE game is disgraceful from so called top footballers. We need defenders in the transfer window and it can’t come soon enough.
Unless we get points and pull out of the relegation zone by Christmas…we will be looking at relegation at the end of the season.
As for Muppet Mick….the next three games should justify whether or not he keeps his job! At this moment in time I would say not!

MM got the team selection and tactics all wrong. Should have been 4-5-1. Arsenal’s strength is in midfield, we should have crowded them out and played Milijas behind Doyle. Hope MM can get it right against Chelsea.
forget this was Arsenal for the moment – the goals we conceded were not created by arsenal but constructed by Wolves.
1. A corner that was a decent delivery but an Arsenal palyer was nowhere near the ball until it through to Zubar, what was Hennesey doing? What exactly are our goalkeeping coaches teaching him to do for crosses/corners?
2. A deflection that on other days would have gone wide or been saved. But why did Castillo give up tracking back to allow them a comfortable 2 on 1?
3. Yes it looked good but it was just a simple triangle, fabregas to Sagna to Van persie back to Fabregas. Again, if Castillo tracks Fabregas after the first pass – danger averted.
4. Another corner, another poor Hennesey clearance – but why did Milijas take up position on the edge of the box and then walk 5 yards away from Arshavin, leaving him unmarked?
So in conclusion – Goalkeeping coaches – is your keeper not doing as you taught or you not teaching him?
Castillo – I don’t get it, sorry, what has he brought to the team?
Milijas – good left foot no doubt, but can he play?
As previous post, why didnt Stearman and Zubar swap? and for gods sake will someone tell Zubar to stop passing across the goal, get it up the line if you’re going to release it! I think he looks decent but uncomfortable at right back.
Never been a Van Persie fan but his movement off the ball was outstanding – SEB (especially) and Doyle are too static when we have the ball in midfield.
I read Mick said we are not going to be rated on how we do against the big four but against West Ham, Portsmouth and Hull – well in case it passed you by MM, we have already had our home games against all three and 1 point from 9 was the result. Obviously we cant rate our chances too highly then. I’m not on the MM out band wagon but I do wonder about the quality of our coaching.
20 you are spot on the midfield is the problem. They dont protect the back four and they dont create anything either. All our goals have been set plays or long ball passing by the midfield and if you look at the goals conceded it always seems to come from the midfield losing the ball like three of the goals last night. For me we need a better holding midielder paired with either milijas or edwards(because they actually go forward) and then if you play two up top play with two wingers if you are gonna flood the midfield with more central midfielders then we should have played a striker willing to come deep and get the ball or run the channels. All in all we lack balance and this is why we aint beat the teams around us
Report abuse
This match showed up the team for what it really is – a Championship side. All smart passing in midfield and clueless in the final third.
So much for £6.5 mill hit man Doyle. To date he has cost £2.1 mill a goal. Then we have the top goal scorer EBanks-Blake who is about as likely to score at this level as being served by the Pope on ASDA’s bacon counter.
Then we have McCarthy’s pearls of wisdom
keogh “the best player on the pitch” What’s happened to him?
“We are still learning” You’re too right there pal!
Greg Halford writing in the Express and Star telling is what he will do/is capable of – where is he?
we have now joined the relegation dross and I’m afraid that’s where we are staying unless some serious money is spent in January – which I doubt.
USELESS – HELPLESS – HOPELESS
Report abuse
Once again it was all to predictable, no imagination in attack whatsoever. Why do we never get the oppositon defence on the back foot? the reason is far too many square passes they never get you anywhere. We need more little chips over the top and more balls pushed through the channels, you must turn defences round if you are to get through! Doyle and Blake had nothing created for them, since Keogh has not played we have virtually creaated no openings in open play, Kightly sadly is not at the races.
Perhaps we should play Jody up front alongside Doyle and our scoring problems would be sorted!! Seriously though, none of us were surprised but again when we have a little spell we produce nothing and we cant do that against any team in this league let alone perhaps the best team in the league in Arsenal. Anyway we expect to get jack squat out of Chelsea away but six points against Bolton and Blues is now essential (especially as we play Spurs and Man U. right after – no rest for the wicked!). Our record so far against our fellow lower teams though has not been good – Hammers, Blackburn, Hull, Pompey and we need to reverse this soon or we will certainly be relegated.
Fight, fight wherever you may be.

All last week MM was saying tha Arsenal were shaking in their boots at the thought of coming to Wolves. After the match his comments were so negative with no sentiment or anything. If that is how he talks to players god help us.At the start of the season Moxey said we would be investing in Premiereship players,he must have forgot to tell MM,apart from Doyle what have we got?Mr.Morgan should get in a managerwho can do the job in place of this muppet.I eep saying it but we need an Avram Grant or Martin Jol or maybe even a Kevin Keegan. This situation is Sunderland re-visited and needs stopping now before it is too late.
I hope Moxey got his bank statement showing £25m balance out at the end of the game as that is the only place where we would beat Arsenal. It’s no good having the money in the bank if we are being stuffed on the pitch.
More square pegs in round holes from Mick, we should have gone 4-5-1 and man marked Fabregas and Arshavin rather than a sloppy 4-4-2 with four centre backs and four central midefield players – we were undone down the flanks predictably and created nothing going forward. Ebanks looks lost at this level and was shocking, whilst Milijas and Castillo bring nothing to the table other than laziness.
All that money spend and it is only Doyle who is actually contributing, we have a Championship defence in Berra/Craddock. If ever there was a game for using the long throw and set pieces was this one with Arsenal’s weakness, yet no Halford/Hoff and we try to outplay Arsenal on the ground.
Clueless!!!

probably the wrong game to pick faults, but after saying in 3 years we havent cleared a ball off the line by having anyone on the post off corners, we have now let in 3 goals which would of been avoided had we placed men on the post, (like arsenal do) our players look like they dont believe they should be on the same pitch as most of the teams, lets get in peoples faces lets hound referees like other teams do, fabrigas was never out of the refs face , blake looks like he dosent believe he is good enough, he wont shoot, wont run with the ball wont challenge for the ball, in my oppinion most of our problems are lack of confidence, lets get at people lets moan and argue with refs lets go down fighting, trying to take players on trying to have shots, stop being such good losers,

We all love Mick, and theres no one better out there for passion or gettin the players pumped up, but tactically against other quality Prem managers, i dont think he’s good enough. Yes we’ll pick up the odd 3 points vs Fulham and co, but to start 4 centre backs, and 4 centre mids vs Arsenal was just beyond me. Furthermore he decides to not start either Kightly OR Jarvis, so we have no pace in the side whatsover! Maerhofer would hae been prefect for this game as Arsenal have never liked the physical challenge, Ebanks-Blake is really starting to show that he isnt cut out for this level, he was on the deck more times than on his feet yesterday.
All in all we were beat by a quality side, but the manner in which some of the goals were conceeded was shockin, im expecting the same vs Chelsea tbh, but hope we can pick up some sort of points vs Blues and Bolton!

No 30- You should be on the Coaching Staff.
No 2 & 3. No Comment-Idiots.
To think we could match Arsenal the whole game by virtualy playing man for man is not on-The first 15minutes yes but not the whole game and in the second half it was a training game for their players.
The comments about our goalkeeper are on going–Good stopper but fails to come for crosses and his positinal play leaves a lot to be desired.
Clearly after this display defensive tactics need to be taken apart. I was suprised to see MK not in the starting 11 .
We are in rouble guys and improvement is called for-Failing to beat teams like West Ham and Portsmouth at home will be our downfall.
I am great believer that things will improve–Wolves were 8/1 to win this game and worth a fiver I have to say.. It appears I lost on all accounts.
We keep the faith melining the Manager gets us nowhere.. I will still bet we beat the Blues.

ebanks-blake was the only one that lett us down and thats down to the amount of effort he puts in! He is too lazy and is the only wolves player that fails to give 110%! He’s not in the championship anymore and needs to realise he’s playing against premiership players so needs to up his game! I still think keogh and doyle play best but we need a £10 million striker if we want to stay up! We have a few half chances but its rare we make a keeper dive or trouble them.We need to start shooting more and stop crossing it into one player in the box who has 3 defenders around him!

This is one I did not get to see so I will not comment on the performance. However, the thing that does concern me is why Burnley are doing so much better than us? They have little money and are playing with essentially the same players they had last season. Yes, they have been turned over a couple of times but they are doing well at home and played really well against Manchester City yesterday.
Frankly, Burnley play better football than we do. Our Championship stars have just not turned up to this point.

Can I ask why in the summer, out of the 3 promoted teams, we had the biggest support, and biggest budget for this season, but are doing the worst of the 3??…ive said it many times but when astute management descisions are needed MM is tactically inept, im sorry but we changed 3 midfielders yesterday, why!!, and one was with a defender.
I never expected to beat Arsenal, but also thought we may have just for once actually gone against the predicted 4-5 nil scoreline and gave a better account, but as expected a wimpish 4-1 loss unfolded.
Chelsea next and lets be honest another defeat, I know its going to be a long hard season with up and downs, but somethings needs to be done otherwise it will be over long before the end of the season,..and if we go down I think Wolves fans will vote with the feet and stay away in droves next season.

I dont understand why we are’nt playing kights or jarvis. easily our 2 most dangerous players. This time last year we couldnt win a game without them and were desperate to get them back, this year they’re both fit and on the bench!
For me they need to play, henry or castillo to sit deep as they both contribute nothing going forward. Then i think edwards or milijas in front of them.
Kights and jarvo definitely have to play against birmingham/bolton/burnley otherwise there is no pace whatsoever in our team.

I agree with everything said by number 32, we are a Championship team, and not a very good one at that, with a division 2 class Manager, who is as useless as a 3 pound note.
No one expected us to win the game, w hoped for a point, at worse, an honourable loss.
We were unable to manage that.
Lets all face the fact if we want to survive this season that we must bring in a new Manager- ( top priority ) rid ourselves of players who will never make the grade in the Premiership… Ebanks- blake, Big Chris. Elokobi, Halford, and I am going to include Kightly on the list, he has been a total embarrassment this year.
And what of keogh, his on again off again form is a real worry, a great deal to do with confidience, and the same with Edwards, but, these two guys are the only Wolves players that can at times mix it with our 6 million pound man, Kevin Doyle, who himself has to learn that he is in the big league now, and a few shots from outside the box would be helpful.
Itwas clear on saturday that neither Doyle or Sylvan had an answer for some of the strong defenders from Arsenal, and both hit the turf more often that addressing the ball, neither knew what the other was doing, but there is still some hope for Doyle.
When a player like Craddock is equal top goal scorer after 11 games, there is something really wrong at Wolves, and lets hope to god that the Owner can see what most of the fan’s have seen since the start of the Season…Wolves, playing with real guts and determination, with many of its players playing out of their natural position, with a large collections of players unable to ‘cut the mustard’ in the Premiership, led by an ex footballer, who was reached the heights of a very ordinary player, and who has never and will never make a success as a Manager in anything more important tan the ‘Sunday league’
Please Mr Morgan….before its too late…Do Something.

Im sorry but, do any of you realise we were playing the Arsenal?!! You can’t critisise the lads at all tbh, they gave everything and you must all know that surely. At the end of the day, we played an Arsenal side who are arguably the best team in the prem at the moment. We can’t expect to get points on the board from these games. So, shutup muttering on and get behind the lads.

Arsenal are a class above most Prem teams and we got off lightly
Losing against the likes of West Ham and Pompey at home does not bode well as the likes of Pompey were struggling when we played them – and we didnt do enough to get the win we needed – those 3 points/ and not losing to West Ham would have had us looking at the next two games through different eyes
As for Moxey’s comments – running a football club as a business/ not competing against the Big 4 (a ridiculous expectation) is one thing – but – not investing enough money in 4 or 5 Prem quality players will put us where we belong – back in the Chumpionship!
Mr Moxey – nobody at Wolves (fans) expects us to compete with the big 4 in any capacity – what we do expect is to compete with the bottom quarter of the Premiership – but without 4 or 5 Prem quality additions what can we expect??? Nuff said

I have seen every match this Season, and have read all comments etc on this and other sites, and this is my comment…stand by..It will shock some of our ‘one eyed’ supporters.
Usually, successful teams have an effective striker that can be fed and relied upon to pepper the goal when he can.
We do not have that in our 6million record signing, Kevin Doyle while he scores 10 for effort, score 2/3 as a effective performer, and on Satutdat he was embarrasing, preferring to fall over evertime he was challenged for the ball.
Ebanks-blake has not returned to his Championship form of last Season, and I don’t think he ever will, Kightly, another match winner last Season, is either still unfit, or is not a Premiership player, big Chris has not really been seen this year, has become injury prone, and unlikely to make the team this season, Hoff..what a mistake !!!! Edwards and Jarvis are triers, bur come on…No striker, no success, no Premiership…easy as that, find some money, sell Ebanks, Chris, and many of the ‘yesterday hero’s, and buy a team like everyone else, or Mr Morgan, get out of Football…because, and remember I have seen every game, we are terrible, and action must be taken, starting with your manager,to start giving marching orders.

must confess am a bit surprised at some of the so downbeat views, yes we did not play as well as we should have done as we did at stoke and hennesey is having problems at moment BUT so far no mention has been made of a very significant difference which is beyond the teams control and that is yet another shocking performance by steve bennet. when is he going to be made responsible for his errors we are not the only team to suffer howlers over the past twom weeks but he seems to lead a charmed life so far as the premier league is concerned.moan over no

Well you were never gonna get anything out of that and quite rightly merlin mick pointed out in his after match press conference that “it would be games against the likes of Hull, Portsmouth and West Ham that would be important” Well Mick i make that 1 point from 9! Unfortunately Wolves are being exposed for their lack of quality players that they failed to sign in the summer. With the exception of Doyle and Zubar our other signings have been at best mediocre. I cannot understand why we have this attitude that our season will not be decided against the top four, tell that to Burnley, a win against Manchester United, a draw against Manchester City we should play every game to get some points not to make up the numbers!
Now that we are in the bottom three we will be remaining there for the rest of the season unless there are changes made. Whilst we have some very good young players we desperately need some more experienced players but whether we will sign any in January is another matter. I don’t think with Mick McCarthy in charge we will survive in the Premiership, his signings leave a lot to be desired when he eventually plays them.
Sylvan looks out of his depth in this league to me.. offers nothing.. Doyle is pre class and oozes confidence… Henry ,yet again, was completely absent from the game. Of the few touches he had he gave the ball away everytime.
Why did Mick take off castillo and leave Henry on? He’s another favourite, no where near good enough.
Milijas was class , most dangerous player wolves had. Edwards is another player who does absolutely nothing, week in and week out. Again no where good enough. Kitely needs a rest, he’s not up to speed yet, and it shows. Jarvis looked good when he came on.
We are now in the relegation zone, and it can only get worse. I keep saying week in week out, that the midfield at wolves is absolute rubbish.
We need to drop HENRY and EDWARDS now, otherwise we’ll go down, with Hull.
Sorry, but lets take a reality check here. The midfield is dreadful and we have no options.
It has to be Milijas supporting the front two, and castillo as the holding player.
As Mick has said before, just because you offer a quality player a contract, it doesn’t mean they will accept it.
Quality players have options. Do you think Ronaldo would sign for Wolves if given the same money he makes now?
Give your heads a collective shake. It is not as easy signing quality players as many of you appear to think.

Well all you muppets must relieved you can get back to moaning. That 3 game unbeaten run must have really hurt you.Next home game the rule should be anyone who left early can’t come. Get behind the lads or go and ’support’ someone else – the only thing that will guarantee relegation is divisions in the ranks. The Southbank (well about 3000 of them) were excellent and the players deserved every ounce of support.

Reading the comments so far, I sense a lot of frustration. Truth is Arsenal were always favourites to beat us. But I think the manner that we played was the part that is frustrating.
We were a shambles from defence, through the midfied to the non-existant forward play.
We just lacked the basics of marking people and keeping shape. 20 mins at the start apart we were disorganised – Captain Henry where were you? Where was the inspiration when we needed it?
We just didnt create many chances – only one I think that Berra headed backwards.
It was PL versus Championship. We were totally out of our depth – even in the first 20 mins when we never looked like we were going to score – despite decent pressure.
Sad part is we have put out our best players already and there are only 3 or 4 that are PL class; Doyle, Milijas, Zubar and Craddock which is not even half a team.
The heroes of last season; SEB, Kights, Henry, Big Chris and probably even Jarvo, are Championship players at best.
If we have a better Manager or coaches, we may be able to improve them but not with the current ones.
Unless we strengthen either by buying better players in January or changing the management team, we will be back in the CL very soon.
It’s no use moaning about the performance yesterday.ALL the mistakes have been made in the summer. With the exception of Doyle no other signing have significantly improved the TEAM!!!!from last season. The policy of buying players FOR THE SQUAD is lunacy.Every player bought should be a vast improvement on what we already have. This is not rocket science. If you were Morgan would you give the current manager 10 million to spend in January????Because that is what is needed to stay in.Two or three TOP CLASS players!!

Lets get real Wolves fans, this group of
players have to play at 110% every game to get

54. not sure which game you were watching. Milijas is off the pace. Yes he has a left foot but he is way to slow and can’t takle. As far as I am concerned he is not up to it. We despertely need some quality in January. Others that look a little off the pace are SEB and Kightly. Get the back 4 sorted with Mancienne and Stearman as the full backs. Zubar as a centre back. We need some pace so get Jarvis on the pitch! Bring on Chelsea we are WOLVES!

Lets us not forget we played well for 30minutes and were unlucky to go one down and their second goal was a lucky deflection. My concern was that we should have tried to keep it tight after
the first goal .We should not have been caught on a breakaway for the third goal in first half injury time. You also have to say it was good to see quality players in the flesh.Once we could compete with the best and hopefully we will again one day.We must never lose our ambition.

Watched the game live over here,Well beaten by a classy Arsenal team. One thing this game highlighted for me was the tactical ineptness of the management/coaching staff.Square pegs in round holes. The Spanish national coach will only play his charges in their natural posistion hence no 1 side in Europe. We had 4 Centre halves of which Zubar had a nightmare at right back conststantly giving the ball away, silly mistake for threekick which lead to the first goal.Seb looks out of his depth as do Henry Kites and castillo,Mijas good left peg but totally one footed.Hulls win puts us second bottom can see no real reason why we will not remain there unless MM Starts to address the situation urgently Bring in a recognised left back put Zubar in the centre of defence and somehow find a proven goalscorer.Tall order indeed.

Most of expected nothing from the game. However, many have mentioned the manner in which we lost.
We have to understand that we are nowhere near touching the likes of Arsenal. Yesterday, we did our best for 28 minutes. After that we were given a lesson in one-touch football and clinical finishing.
At 3-down in the 2nd half, we needed goals. So, on comes Mancienne!! Kightly is out of his depth and, with 30 minutes to go, in my opinion, we needed Jarvis, Keough and The Hoff in order to allow Doyle some chances as he ran the channels.
Jarvis gave us some hope but, in the end, it was Jody again who gave us a bit of pride.
For me, a fighting and sustained performance was required yesterday to offer hope for the future. Without 3 wins in the next 5 games, I believe we will be doomed, Mr Mainwearing!!!!!

Lets be honest there are only a handful of realistic, loyal wolves supporters on here. To all the ‘fans’ who are knocking mick and calling for his head aren’t supporters in my opinion, they are critic’s might as well be baggies.
We are not trying to win the league so realistically we are not going to compete with the top 4 although i do believe we can pick up points from them.
Ok not the greatest start by any means however we are only 3pts off 14th yes teams have games in hand but they got to win them.
I wouldnt want to go to war with you lot you’d turn around and run as soon as we found ourselves in a situation, theres only a minority of supporters who would stand there and fight. The majority of these guys were stood in the southbank yesterday, there until the end supporting the boys as long as they wear that badge support the team.
To every1 at molineux yesterday, well done, if we all stick together and believe, then our chances of survival are greater, its going to be a fight to the end

Notts Wolves you hit the nail on the head.
No one expected a win against Arsenal … and even though we were destroyed, Mick rightly said that its the teams around us that we have to beat.
we’ve played 4 already, 3 at home:
Blackburn, West Ham, Pompey = all lost
Hull – draw.
I don tknow whats happenned to SEB but he’s away at the races, leaving us with only ONE FIT AND ABLE STRIKER. For the premiership – you are most surely having a laugh.
Its not all doom and gloom – not yet – but for Mick to reel off comments like ” these arent the games we will remember our season by”, had better work jolly hard on supplying said games, rather than smug retorts.

The gradual improvement shown in the the three drawn games must have been painful for the moaners. The same moaners who said we will do a Derby or a Sunderland. They are nothing but “told ya so” merchants who are still upset MM got us promoted despite their SACK MICK efforts.
The criticism of SEB and Doyle is ridiculous, the fact is they are not getting any chances to miss.
We are struggling to create chances but who out of the Mick Haters thought Kites would be taking this long to settle? Milijaš is starting to find his feet and range of passes and once we can field a settled defence things will improve.

THE FANS WERE FANTASTIC ON SATURDAY NIGHT. Everybody stayed behind the boys and out-sang the Gunners, Super Mick appreciated it as he kept applauding the fans, nothing we could do about Arsenals quality, they done the same to Spurs, AZ Alkmaar and us in the same week, I can honestly say that is the best side I have ever seen at the mol, a joy to watch. I am not too concerned about being in the top 3 at the moment, I am confident of us getting 7 points from the next 3 home games and a point away inbetween. I don’t think our team, as a whole, can be criticised for lack of effort or application. They can’t be blamed for not being of the quality that’s needed because they’re good, honest pro’s who wear the shirt with pride. The same can be said of Mick McCarthy as boss. However, we’re just not good enough at this level and we aint in the bottom three for no reason. When Jody Craddock is top scorer -and this is the guy who Mick shipped out to Stoke at Championship level because he wasn’t good enough, don’t forget- AND he’s the lynchpin of our defence, well, you know we’re in serious trouble.
I’m all for playing 4-4-2, home or away because defensive formations will see us regularly mullered. We need wins, not honourable draws to boast about. But seeing Burnley prosper while we struggle defies logic. Don’t count on their bubble bursting, either, because everyone said that about Hull City, yet they survived.
All that big talk about spending real money to be competitive and “not merely going into the Premier League to make up the numbers” is looking a bit daft, now. £18m may be three times more than we found the last time we were at this level, but it’s three times more expensive now, so we’ve made no headway whatsoever. The truth is, we’ve tried (yet again) to do things on the cheap. The club have also over-estimated the ability of their title-winning kids. However, it’s the paying, ST-holding fans who have been suckered (again) into parting with their hard-earned moolah on the back of empty promises.
We need to keep behind the lads and back them every inch of the way because they deserve no less. We need to back Mick, too, even if we do have misgivinghs about his ability as a top-flight manager. However, unless Santa Claus Morgan digs deep into his toy sack and finds some serious lolly this this January, we’re doomed. Facts are facts, no matter how unpalatable.

Totally agree with allot of coments on here and especially 38. Some comments are real rubbish though!
What do you think was going to happen in this league as new boys!!!?
Burnley are doing well and good luck to them. I don’t think it will last but great if it does.
Arsenal are quality they have scored 4 goals this season against very good european opposition.
As for the MM out brigade just think what he has done for the side since inhereting the rubbish that Hoddle left behind.
Our club is very strong financially and will be
around for many years. I think the Chairman and Moxey have done a good job. It is pathetic to say we should spend £25m on players because
1 there is no certainty we would stay up and then financially we would be in a dire position if we went down, and
2. No one wants to join a new premiership club!
People should get real and think where we are to where we were!
If we go down SO WHAT wiolves will still be there and we might end up being a yo-yo club
but I am happy the club is in good financial state with a decent side which just might escape.
I say well done to the 3M’s

Tower wolf I agree Blake is always on his backside whenever he gets the ball. Why did he not run when the ball was passed within 5ins of his foot and there was only him and their goalkeeper what happened Arsenal took it out should not have happened Blake has got to run at balls like that.
I love Zubar but why did he go for a ball that was already going over the line for a throw in and then go in the box and score for them. These mistakes have got to stop happening. Arsenal are a very good team and if you look at the game if we had not scored two goals for them then it would have only been 2.1 which is not too bad considering that Arsenal are on fire at the moment.
I truly believe that we will not go down because the work rate is excellent but we have got to start putting some goals in the oppositions end.
I cannot believe that some fans walked out at half time but yes I can cause they did at Stoke as well call themselves supporters, but well done to the fans that stayed until the end and still sang their hearts out. This is what the lads want to hear. They will come through for us in that I truly believe.

Mick, out Keegan in, get rid of Mick. What utter nonsense some people write!
Look, most of us knew that we were going to struggle this season. The team has, with the excepetion of the Blackburn game, giving 100% and have played well. What worries me is the lack of goals. Doyle cant do it on his own, SEB looks off form. I cant see where we are going to get the goals from. Kights is obviously struggling but lets not forget where he was playing a few seasons ago. It takes time to adjust, lets hope he adjusts soon. I did not expect us to get anything against Arse and dont expect anything against Chelski. Like MM has said, we have to look at the B’ham/Bolton, get some points on the board. One thing is certain, the team will never give up, they cannot be faulted for effort. So stop slagging off MM and Jez, get behind the team instead!!

Big suprise, we got beat by Arsenal, I think most people’s expectations are a bit high for this team. We were and are never gonna have anything but a huge struggle to stay in this league. I’ve been going for 25 yrs and this is easily the best Wolves team I’ve ever seen, and mainly they actually look like they care and are giving it a go. We don’t have a god given right to be here or to attract the best players/manager/owner etc. Please can all the people suggesting that Mick/Morgan/Moxey must go, tell me who they would realistically bring in to manage/own this club. No surprise that Burnley are flying in comparison to us. Anyone who was at Coyles first away game in charge of Burnley will remember them spanking us, playing for a manager who does the simple things properley.
We have not had a left back at the club since MM swapped Naylor for the legend that is Charlie Mulgrew.
On Saturday he played four centre backs and four central midfielders in yet another bewildering team selection, something that has been a trademark of MM.
Slowly but surely the no hopers have been taken out of the side, Collins, Elokobi, Keogh, Elliott,Potter, Hill et al. All of them not fit for purpose at the level we were playing at and obvious to 20,000 fans but not MM.
There is enough quality at the club to survive and build for the future, all we need is someone less pig headed in charge, someone in the mould of Coyle

We started well but simply lack qulity around the pitch. We may have £25mil in the bank but the startegy of not investing in quality (except Doyle) to build on last season is obvious. Whilst we need to watch the £ MM & Moxely lack real ambition and now we have a real fight on our hands.
Why not give the Hoff a run?? Sylvan was LAZY and ineffective in the second half, we need to find a partner to Doyle who won’t keep missing the FEW chances we get. Once again MM’s selection and tactics were way off the mark. All the TALK of bringing in experience, usual SPIN, looks like you’ve BLOWN it again..unless you sort this out fast.

How can we start a petition now from the many thousand Wolves fans to be directed to the owner, Mr Morgan, that we will not put up with another ‘yo-yo’ season like last times under Jones/Moxey Management, seeking assurances that in January he will reverse the trend of Wolves being the league’s ‘easy beats’ and the speed in which we are travelling towards relegation.
As a supporter for more years than I can remember, the fact that we went down to Arsenal 1-4 is not the issue. It was expected that we were unlikely to get anything out of the game, its the other ten games that concern me with our pathetic forward line and shaky defence, and a Manager so out of touch with big time leadership and football, who will be sacked when we are relegated anyway.
From what I have seen, heard from those close to him, and his record as a player and a Manager, his vision, if he has one, will see us in the Championship next Season. Try getting out of that division again, no chance, most of the teams in the Championship would beat Wolves.
We must get a new manager, I would even support Morgan appointing Karen Brady, she could do no worse than Mccarthy, and two or three experienced premiership players as a minimum.
I don’t want Wolves to be relegated, because I am at 60 too old to see them return to the big time, its vital we avoid relegation and this canonly be achieved with new Manager and more money spent in January.
Lets hope Mr Morgan loves Wolves enough to save them

no 85- this is the premiership and you only get one half or decent chance per game if your lucky. SEB poors control and touch is really showing at this level. He cant hold the ball or turn. Doyle was far more effective but
the two had no understanding.
I dont agree with MM that Doyle cant play with anyone. He needs a settled partner.
I didnt see SEB and Doyle communicate once and they played like strangers.

I only watched some of the match and have read every comment above. The common theme from us all is that we are passionate about our Wolves, but are completely fed up with the spin coming from the likes of Moxey and the board. We have been here before and heard Moxeys spin before, ( i think he would make a great labour MP), we are entering that slippery slope and it seems that the the writing is being prepared for the wall, but not just yet. When the window opens in January what quality players are wanting to come to Molinuex for several months?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mr Morgan i think its time u voiced ur opinion and seriously invest in the team. Moxey needs to get out if he and his mates on the board aint prepared to also invest. We had skys money plus Mr Morgans cash we only spent 15 to 16 mill. The comment ‘we will not do an albion’ is very shallow and a slap in the face for us all who put money in there coffers. It needs a sort out from top and bottom at the same time. Dont know abnout you but i am brassed off being good losers, we nearly did it, nearly but no cigar, thanks for the game lads, and then MM n Moxey patronising us with fine bloody sentiments. Hope someone comes in in future and sorts us out. We have a great fan base and a stadium to match. These players we have currently are not good enough. This has been said often enough and i dont think any one at Molinuex is listening. SEB ur too slow mate as for the rest of the team well….at times like rabbits in headlights.
Its obvious where we need quality…..most of the bloody team! They have been warned i would not like to be a wolves player at the next home game if we lose!!Keep the faith people!
come on u woffers!!!!

After all these years, I still think that EVERY diligent (and highly-paid) footballer should be able (and willing) to pass and shoot with both feet; most of the time control and release the ball accurately and with the correct ‘weight’; and be able to turn both ways. This is called ‘technique’, and can be learned with practice. When their own side is in possession of the ball, they should be looking for space, and closing it down when their opponents have it (in other words, playing when they don’t have the ball). Like making good angles to receive a pass, this is normal football intelligence – which is a bit harder to acquire if you haven’t got it. (The intelligence and imagination of the likes of a Bergkamp, Zola, Mannion, Giles, Beardsley, Arshavin – and others – is impossible to ‘acquire’.) Having a ‘good left foot’ or long throw-in is not enough. Not playing without the ball is worse. And four-touch ‘ball to feet’ without movement is useless. The few minutes around Arsenal’s third goal illustrate most of what I have written. (Trouble is: I could go on like this for hours.
