Wolves striker Chris Iwelumo is ready to fight for his place at Molineux despite admitting being “flattered” to be on Middlesbrough’s hit-list.
The Scotland international was seen on a nine-strong wish-list of new Boro boss Gordon Strachan, before his unveiling at the Riverside earlier this week.
But the 31-year-old, who has 20 months left on his contract, is only thinking about playing in the Premier League with Wolves after his comeback from injury.
He said: “It’s nice to get that acknowledgement, especially after being out for so long. But I’m a Wolves player, I’m happy here.
“I’m looking to get myself in the team and to stay there.”
