Wolves could end up loaning Sam Vokes to another club if his delayed move to Coventry drags on.
The 19-year-old is still to complete his 93-day switch and has instead been named in the reserves’ team that hosts Chelsea tonight at Telford (7pm).
Chief executive Jez Moxey said: “We’re surprised it’s taken so long. The finances were agreed two weeks ago, but if their circumstances have changed then that would explain the delay.
“If they can’t complete the deal then it’s no hassle – we have one or two other teams interested.”
Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman beleives the delay has been caused by minor details in the contract.
He said: “It’s dragged on a little bit but through no fault of our own or Wolves’, sometimes with these things it’s just the way they’re drawn out.”Vokes
