Walsall midfielder Richard Taundry has been blown away by manager Chris Hutchings’ powers of persuasion after admitting the Saddlers squad is “amazing.”
The Banks’s Stadium star has watched Steve Jones, Josh O’Keefe, Mark Hughes and Sam Parkin arrive this month.
More new arrivals are certain before the start for the League One season at Brighton on August 8.
Taundry has been impressed with the activity so far.
He said: “From what we had three or four weeks ago to what we’ve got now is amazing.
“The manager can be persuasive but it must be a bit easier for him, because he’s been about a bit and knows more about other clubs. That stands him in good stead.”
But Taundry, who played on the right wing against Wolves on Tuesday night, wants to nail down a permanent position this season after playing in four different roles last year.
He said: “At the minute I’m happy to be playing. I haven’t had a long run in a constant position so I’m just trying to find out which one it is.
“I feel comfortable wherever I play, but I would like to secure a concrete position.”

When I was young I gave up all thoughts of becoming a journalist as I thought my English skills were lacking.
If only I’d known a basic grasp of ‘copy & paste’ is all that is required to make yourself a career in journalism these days then my dream could’ve come true.

Maybe one day a Walsall fan will say something positive and we’ll be able to have a 2 or 3 page article on that….

Maybe one day Johnno will become our lord and saviour, delivering our recession hit land into a new undiscovered utopia.
On another note, he isnt actually saying the squad is amazing, more that its amazing that walsall actually do have a squad.
As am I.
Johnno ,meanwhile, sits by the local bandstand with The Joust, eyes filled with desire, waiting until his time comes.
Whenever that may be……
