Bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion at Molineux today after a suspect package was found outside the ground.
A robot was used to carry out the blowing up of the package, which appeared to be contained in a rucksack. It was discovered by a cleaner inside a metal bin by the statue outside the Stan Cullis Stand.
Police sealed off the area along with roads around the stadium, including Jack Hayward Way leading to Asda.
The package was found at around 8.45am and police were called as crowds gathered to watch the drama unfold.

The club shop and ticket office were both closed and a message was posted on the club’s website. Staff were evacuated to the Billy Wright Stand.
Stadium manager Steve Sutton said: “We contacted the police straight away and on their advice we closed the stand, ticket office and the club shop.
“Wolves’ other stands and general club operations were unaffected by the drama, although the stadium’s car park was cordoned off. The all-clear was given at around 12.30pm.
West Midlands Police spokeswoman Catherine Preece said: “We were called at 8.54am today after a suspicous package was found in a bin outside Molineux. The Stan Cullis stand was evacuated and a cordon put in place while inquiries are made and bomb disposal engineers were called.”
It is not known what the package contained.
