WE WOULDN’T STAND A CHANCE BASICALLY. WE’D SPEND THE WHOLE SEASON IN THE BOTTOM 3, AND RELEGATION CONFIRMEDBY MID MARCH. I WOULD IMAGINE WE COULD MATCH OR MAYBE BETTER DERBY’S 11 POINTS TOTAL, BUT I DOUBT WE’D EQUAL THE BAGGIES FINAL TOTAL BY THE END OF THIS SEASON.

WHICH EVER 3 TEAMS GO UP, WILL BE WITHOUT DOUBT THE POOREST TRIO OF TEAMS TO GAIN PROMOTION IN A LONG LONG TIME. AND AS MUCH AS I WANT US TO BE PROMOTED, IT WILL BE A PRETTY MISERABLE TIME FOR US I’M AFRAID. AND THAT’S NOT BEING NEGATIVE, THAT’S BEING HONEST AND TRUTH SEEMS TO HURT MANY OF OUR SUPPORTERS.

It all depends on the commitment shown by mess’r Morgan and Moxey. Would Mr Morgan be willing to invest heavily in team re-building? Is Moxey capable in the premiership? Realistically maybe 5/6 new signings would be required and not for peanuts as was the case last time around.Anyway lets not run before we can walk,Concentrate on reaching the promised land first.

amazingly we will get the moaners who won’t give us a chance in the premiership. so what, the idea is to get there and do as well as you can, so i for one have renewed my season ticket and come what may will support wolves good or bad and have done so for 40yrs.

We are going up with Reading second and maybe Cardiff in the play-offs but I would rather see Swansea. As for getting battered every game in the Prem, Southbank Army are you saying you would rather opt for the safer option of better results in the Championship. We would be relegated because of our weaker players. I have no doubt, Hnnessey(in time), Foley, Stearman, Berra, Elokobi, Friend, Jarvo, Kites, Ebanks blake and Iwelumo could progress in the premier, we need players such as:
Gabbidon- westham- not getting a look in
Ledley- cardiff- wont be promoted get him
Roger Johnson- cardiff- great centre half
Seb Larsson- quality, wants out of blues
    Carsley- blues- experience
    Eagles-Burnley- great player
    Tom Huddlestone- spurs- club captain
Olsson- albion- only one to impress for them

Keeping the young and hungry tag. Get them on performance related bonuses (win bonus, survival bonus) like man utd do we will be on the right track

So, Punch & Judy return with yet another comic video, and this is the best yet.

See a nervous Craig constantly turning around because he’s worried all that background noise may be interfering with the recording? Lol! Thought I was watching a “Smith & Jones” sketch for a minute! Lol!

Later, Craig asks “The 64 million Dollar question” about whether McCarthy would be able to keep Wolves up. What he really meant was: “Is McCarthy GOOD enough?”, but was too frightened to ask. There again, we wouldn’t have got a straight answer anyway because these two jokers don’t “do” controversy. They only provide non-controversial, sanitised fare.

My conclusion? If you want it straight, you’re better off going down the pub yourselves and talking to your mates. At least you’ll get a candid reply to a candid question, unlike from that pair.

On a serious note, I agree entirely with Grace (post 4). It’s a pointless debate seeing as we haven’t even got promoted yet. Still, it was entertaining, though -if only for the pure amateurism of these videos. Honestly, my sides split whenever I watch those two. Keep it up, John and Craig… ;-)

If so many prem teams are after our ’stars’, then logically we have a good base of a premiership team.

We probably only need 2 or 3 seasoned good pro’s, who will not come with Mick in charge.

So, a new manager is a must plus the above and we can be mid table whilst gaining expeirence.

Have a good look at Martinez from Swansea, proved in the cup can match prem teams by playing attractive football.

Look for goodnes sake, Mick & Morgan have said we need to stregthen for the Premier League, there is no debate and no doubt about that.

As for sacking a manager that looks like getting automatic promotion for us for the first time since 1977, well only an idiot would suggest such utter nonsense.

Craig, I think this pub chat is a great idea and I enjoy listening in.
With regard to presentation and technology, is there anything stopping you and John from sitting at a smaller round table side by side but half on? This would avoid you having constantly to look away from John towards the camera and would greatly enhance the presentation.
Or is there an unsurmountable technological problem ?
PS. John, you are optimistic about Wolves promotion hopes, but I agree with your view on individual player potential for the Premier.

We need to get promoted first, but then the real decisions need to be taken, are we there for 1 season and the money, are we genuinely going to make the effort and invest in the team and yes is MM good enough to give us a fighting chance. Not too sure how the first 2 questions will be answered but they will both be academic if MM stays – he simply is not up to it !

Only one or two players are up to the rigours of Premiership football, that’s obvious.

IF Wolves go up (and it’s still a big IF), how much of that promised £30m of Morgan’s will we see?

How many players would we need to bring in, and in what positions?

Will McCarthy continue his policy of blindly backing of the likes of Keogh, Collins, etc?

Is our manager even up to the job of keeping us up?

Most importantly, are you fans going to be happy seeing Wolves walloped every week, or is it a price you’re happy to pay just so that you can boast:

    “We’re a Premiership club!”

    Yes….but for HOW LONG?

Doesn’t matter which league we are playing in next season, the problem areas are the same, just the quality of the player to sort out those problem areas will be different. The bigger problem will be hanging on to the core group of quality younger players we have – especially if we don’t make the PL.

And for all those MM haters, simple question: a newly promoted PL team, historically odds on to get relegated straight back to the Championship seeks a new manager – who is available that would want the job? A PL quality manager would be looking for a better job than an odds on cert to get relegated and why change if that sort of manager is not available?

For me one sentence in that video summed it all up for me. – “Dave Jones was not trusted by Sir Jack” – That’s why we failed and only by one or two good players. At Cardiff I still remember Sir Jack stating to Sky – “Next stop Champions League” – So what happened between the playoff final day and the end of that dreadful season God only knows. This time we cannot let this golden opportunity slip by (if it comes to fruition) but I still believe it will!! KEEP THE FAITH, OUT OF THE DARKNESS COMETH BRILLIANT LIGHT……..

MM will need alot more than workrate alone to stay up thats for sure. For me, Ikeme, Foley, Stearman, Kightly & Blake could make the step up. Berra is still settling in. As for the rest-squad players at best. Jarvis is going to be one of those annoying inconsistant players-he may well fulfill his potential but he will only do that if he plays more and stays injury free. Morgan will need to spend big otherwise we will do an Albion, thats assuming we get promoted!

    23. Despite all the very good things that SJH did for his beloved club, when push came to shove, he let us down when it mattered most: lack of investment just when our dreams had beenfinally realised and the club were gaining momentum. That was unforgiveable, especially since he PROMISED “to do a Birmingham”.

One other thing that many fans tend to overlook is this:

When Dave Jones was first appointed, he had a face-to-face discussion with SJH. Dave basically said there were two ways of gaining promotion: spend, spend, spend to acquire the necessary quality and experience, OR…

Persue a slower, more measured approach by building the club up, one step at a time, primarily with youthful but talented players. As a natural consequence, this process would take much longer, Dave pointed out.

Sir Jack chose the FORMER solution, such was his great desire to see Wolves restored -as quickly as possible- to where he believed we should be. So, he wanted instant success, and pretty much got it.

So, why the beef with Dave? He may not have trusted him, but I fail to see why. If dear ‘ol Jack frittered away a fortune, he need look no further than the numpties he employed previously, such as Mark McGee.

Dave picked up the short straw for others’ failings. Personally, I think the fellah did a fine job and I still respect him to this day.

You are spot there 27, Dave Jones was the best manager we had for decades and paid the price for previous managers mistakes in the transfer market. I remember when we made our first signing after we got up in 2003, Oleg Lunhzy! The alarm bells rang straight away. I went home and away to every game that season and we weren’t far away. Sir Jack got it wrong in a big way with Dave Jones.

Sacking mick now is the worst possible comment I have heard and any such suggestion is ridiculous. If he gets us up he deserves 12-15 games in the prem. bringing in

    Gabbidon(westham)
    Huddlestone(spurs)
    Mancienne (chelsea)
    Eagles (burnley)
    Carsley (blues)

those 5 players alone would give us a great fighting chance, although if you see my earlier comment alot more transfer targets will see us secure ourselves there.

If we’d have been a bit more adventurous away from home, we might have been safe by now.

No point in asking this now. Should wait to see if we go up, but to be honest it looks like our form is coming back now, so we have the best chance to go up now.

If we do, I would keep Hennessey and Ikeme, Foley, Stearman, Berra, Elokobi, Kites, Jarvo, Jones, Ebanks and Iwelumo, and would sell the likes of Keogh, Collins, Craddock (even though he’s done ok past couple games he’s too old now and wouldn’t be able to build his standards to prem), and Ward, etc. I also think prem would be too much of a step for Friend.

As for signings, I agree with number 8 – laughingwolf. Maybe include Mancienne in that list aswell? :)
