Wolves winger Gobern joins MK Dons

lewisgobern.jpgForgotten Wolves winger Lewis Gobern has joined MK Dons for training with a view to a loan move.

The 23-year-old is attempting to rebuild his career after an injury plagued 18 months, the academy product last playing a competitive game over two years ago in December 2006.

As he continues to battle to full fitness, two League One outfits in Colchester and MK Dons came forward to inquire about his availability.

McCarthy had previously stated that he would be loaned out to get some first-team matches under his belt, as soon as he was fit enough to be considered.

He will now have a chance to display his progress at Stadium:MK.

McCarthy said: “He’s training with MK Dons for a few days. Paul Lambert rang me from Colchester about him and Roberto di Matteo rang me from MK Dons.

“Colchester were happy for him to go there, but MK Dons were training on Saturday and Sunday and he wanted to go there.

“It’s just to see whether he’s fit enough for them to take.”
