Michael Mancienne believes Wolves can win the Championship title in a bold statement of the club’s ambitions.
The on-loan Chelsea defender returns to Wolves buoyed by a taster of football’s top table after several days’ training with the full England squad for their friendly win over Germany last night.
Mancienne has already become a cult figure among Wolves fans after being man of the match in each of his first three starts, with the club wanting to extend his stay for the rest of the season.
The 20-year-old has been equally impressed with his temporary team-mates and reckons they can remain top dogs in the Championship, where they are six points clear.
He said: “If I do leave, then I know they’ll be in very good shape and can go on and win the Championship title. They have a good squad of players capable of doing it, so I have no doubts.
“It’s a good feeling to be top of the table, and playing good football. These are exciting times because there’s a lot going on.
“The move to Wolves, and the fact they like to play good football, and are top of the Championship, has definitely helped. I’d like to think one day I can play regular Premier League football, but being at Wolves is a great stepping stone. We’re buzzing at the moment.”

Sounds like it, also Carlos Edwards has just been recalled back to sunderland, we shud of gone for Routledge before cardiff got him!

Now that carlos edwards has been re-called go and get scott sinclair on loan pinch him from under the blues noses

According to The Mirror yesterday Wolves are interested in Scott Sinclair, Chelsea, on loan. The rumour could prove right as Carlos is leaving. Is he a good replacement until Jarvis is fit?
Scott sinclair would probably choose wolves ahead of birmingham after his mate mancienne is doing so well with us. Also we play more attack than birmingham to which would suite him better.
to right wolves1877 scott sinclair would do a great job at wolves and given the choice of blues who will be in the playoffs if there lucky or wolves going for the title no contest really, and a word from mancienne should swing it in our favour even more,WE ARE WOLVES

just as we am doin well and edwards is finding is feet always happens to us,comin to crunch time to in season 3 big games comin up and sunderland recall him,by the looks of it for no reason cuz they have cover in that postion, looks like keogh will be back in,just hop we can cope cuz we all no wat happened wen jarvis first got injured we was unbalanced and lost 3 on trot

scott sinclair, also heard a whisper a young lad from Arsenal is a possibility but no names as yet, will do my upmost to find out

I hope and no disrespect to Micky Gray,,, I would rather see “fans favourite” AK on the wing for saturday, Scott Sinclair would be fantastic addition to us, prefer him then Wayne Routledge. Either way we need cover on the flanks especially if Kites picks up a booking. I hope he times his tackles well on saturday as well as keeping his trap shut!

we desperately need another winger, mick must have learnt by now keogh cannot play there. sinclair or solano will be good signings on loan the second one could be particularly shrewd

I imagine the sudden recall of Edwards is yet another example of Jez Moxey fouling up the negotiaions by trying to save money.Itis clear that Wolves were negotiating to extend the Edwards deal and it is easy to read between the lines that Moxey was trying to reduce the cost and Sunderland just pulled the plug.In trying to save a few hundred grand Moxey may threaten our promotion prospects. This is a crucial time of the season with games against the Blues and Sheff Utd coming up.

i have full faith and full confidence in mick, jez and steve to pull something out the bag. So far i have been very happy with the signings and the way they have been running the club showing they mean buisness with the loan signings of mancienne and edwards. Good luck to carlos and maybe we will see him again soon?
COME ON WOLVES!!!!!!!!! SEE EVERYONE ON THE 29TH!!!!

11. I cannot believe your comments. Why the snipe at Jez? He is part of the team that has assembled the most exciting squad we have had for years!

No. 10
Dont think we have a hope of getting Solano - he’s only just joined Larissa who are flying high in the Greek Prem and building quite a squad of ex-prem’ players.
I’ve also heard that we have tried for Arsenal players on loan in the past and have been given a strong ‘NO’ as Mr Wenger doesnt want them on the whole to go out on loan and not develop under his tutorage!

Looks like Keane has got one over on MM again!! We get hime match fit and just when he starts to produce the goods he gets recalled!!!

Chris Hoggard,,, were you there when the chats between moxey and sunderland took place…. Nope I didnt think so,, so best you stick to your crayons and leave the room when grown ups walk in. YOU MUPPET!

I think wolves have got enough quality to beat blackpool, but we’re deffinately going 2 need 2 bring in a winger before the sheffield and birmigham game. And thats before u take into account that kightly has a good chance of missing one of those 2 games through suspension! I also think we could start playing either matt hill or friend at left back and push ward up the pitch more(if we were really struggling for a winger) as he now has a fair bit of experience of playing out on the left.
So far I’ve been impressed with the signings MM and Jez have mad altho Our 3deadline day signings look as if they might have been desperation buys now as none of them can get in the team. Maybe get rid of 1 or 2 of them in january aswell as potter.

no14 I based my comments on something Mick McCarthy said last week on the decline of Watford last season being down to losing Adam Johnson, who was recalled by Middlesboro’.Losing Edwards is a similar situation. We know Wolves were trying to extend the loan deal and this has obviously fallen down. The reasons for this we don’t know and Jez has a track record of negotiating down the cost of transfers, which is a good thing in some ways, but often we have missed out on our first targets eg Berra and Lafferty in the summer. Many of the signings made in the last 18 months have been great but IF we have lost Edwards down to price discussions and we don’t bring in a replacement then I feel Jez will have let us down.I have supported Wolves for 45 years and I WANT PROMOTION AS MUCH AS ANYBODY.

Ifs and buts and speculation, you should be a newspaper reporter. Jez’s record on negotiating good deals is excellent, so why bring it in to question with fairy stories.

I want Mick to go after Shea Salinas of the San Jose Earthquakes - loads of pace and learned a lot from Darren Huckerby this year.

sunderland are in a shocking run of form and keane is making changes simple as that! carlos played well on sat and has been recalled. jez is doing a great job! sinclair or calamity carson for our winger, well he must be better there than in goal!

chris hoggard ,,well said mate,,,youll be doing a watford pretty soon,,staying in the chumpionships after you blow it in the playoffs as per normal,,,stayin down staying down stayin down….hope we dont come back to haunt ya,,,boingboing

chris hoggard:
Edwards was recalled because Keane needed him in the team at Sunderland because of injuries. The contract was that he would stay until December 29, but Keane had the option to take him back at any time on short notice, and that was what happened. Nothing to do with Jez or Wolves actions.
You are probably one of those guys who thinks Jez is behind global warming too.

chris hoggard - the thread has spoken. Your comments are unsubstantiated trash. What a pointless jibe at Jez Moxey and foolish “coulda, woulda shoulda” talk, based on……NOTHING!!
You were no doubt shouting “mick out” at every opportunity only…..4 months ago?
What short term memories people have.

If you read the Sunderland postings, Edwards has been recalled because they have an injury crisis, and are struggling to put a midfield on the pitch. Sorry Chris Hoggard, but it blows your Jez theory out of the water. Still, keep knocking.

It’s good that Mancienne is impressed with what is happening at Wolves. Watching him play, it reminds me of the control that Billy Wright always had of the centre.
If only we could acquire his services, I think that Michael could be our new Billy Wright, because he will only get better. Where he is now is just fantastic, I’m a fan for life wherever he goes to!
If Wolves could possibly acquire his services (perhaps by selling a goalie?), then that would be a fantastic trade. Come on guys, see what you can do?

It’s unfortunate to see Edwards recalled back to Sunderland because he was slowly finding his feet here and becoming a useful addition to the squad.
I for one would recall Daniel Jones now and play him down the left flank. As for England last night were better banlanced with to wingers in our team and for me Keogh is’nt a winger, and i feel we can hurt teams with our width and to be honest Iwelumo and Ebanks-blake prosper more with two wingers….

20. the reason we lost out to lafferty was cus rangers wanted him (he is a rangers fan)and what wud you choose championship or champions league?they paid over the odds for him anyway so well done to jez for not paying over the odds and lets give the guy a break we are top of the league afterall and won the last 5 in a row.oh and berra was not for sale anyway.

I’m a 24 year old female, living within 10 minutes of Molineux, have loved wolves since i was old enough to talk.. Supported them through thick and thin.. Through all the bad times, that’s a fan, so number 24, if it makes you feel better to come here to try and ridicule Wolves just because West Brom are completely crippled in the premiership go ahead.. Doesn’t change a thing in the minds of true fans.. You only come here because there’s nothing positive you can say in your own forums at the moment.. Wolves are doing great, and I’m so proud of them, regardless of ‘bad play’ .. we’re getting the points we’re doing well.. That’s all we need.

I go back a long way - I knew Stan Cullis, ans remember him as a player. There is more than a passing touch of Cullis in McCarthy. Also,in response to comments about Jez Moxey - he’s a last assembled a good, working Staff. I also remember some of the abysmal, shambolic managerial appointments and decisions not too long ago. He’ll prove himself to me at the beginning of our third consecutive season in the Premier division.
