16:03: Kightly booked for challenge on Aron Gunnarsson.

16:01: Second-half begins.

15:22: Returning winger Michael Kightly gets a shot at goal but his well thwarted by Coventry goalkeeper Kieron Westwood.

15:12: Collins slips again but Eastwood is foiled at the last.

15:11: A slip up from Neill Collins lets in Leon Best for Coventry, but to the rescue comes goalkeeper Carl Ikeme with a fine save.

15:05: Michael Mifsud opens the scoring for Coventry, after being set up by? Freddy Eastwood.

15:01: Freddy Eastwood booed on his first touch on the ball for Coventry.

15:00: Game kicks off.

Unless Freddy gets on top of us early, the longer it goes on, the more frustrated he’ll hopefully get… Just feel he may try and force things today. Also, don’t read ANYTHING in to Wayne on the bench again… I do rate Ikeme, and he’s had solid training since the Swans game, Wayne’s been playing for Wales. There’s no way we drop WH now with a view to cashing in on him… what’s the point? People are hardly going to start a bidding war when he’s not playing are they? get real. 3 pts today would be fantastic! come on lads!

Well that was hard work. We’ve had more luck this season than normal. Coventry will be there or thereabouts I think at the end of the season. Well done the lads. If you are going to go up you have to win games like this when you are below par. Great that Blues drew but the best news is that Reading lost. I think they are the best team in the league and we are now 5 points a head! With luck they’ll sell their best players at Christmas! Hopefully we don’t - Kightly is going to have a few sniffing around come january. What a player, though Mark Bright on the radio thought he was needlessly petulant today.

With the way Ikeme played today he fully justified his inclusion. Ok, Hennessey is a great keeper, but Ikeme shouldnt have been dropped after the Bristol City game, and i think Mick realises that.

Rumour is Arsenal want Hennessey in January. If they make a very good offer i can see us selling him. If we do, id be disappointed, but Ikeme has looked solid in the two home games he has played this season, and you cannot fault his display today.

I do not know how many of those commenting on here today actually ever see a game. I have been to day and would make the following observations.

We probably how the points to Ikeme he had a fine game and to me looks every bit as good as Hennessey and he gives me more confidence when the high balls come into the 6 yards box.

Collins did start very shaky to day and looked as if it was going to be one of those days during the first 20 minutes. He certainly is not however one of our worst ever defenders and he does have some excellent games. His main problem is that he makes grave errors of judgement on too many occasions.

Kightley is a very exciting player, but is becoming petulant and maybe a bit big for his boots. He needs to be brought to book before he ruins his own potential.

    Cheers

Oh, by the way, Carlos Edwards had been on international duty with Trindad, and only got back yesterday. As a result Mick felt it best not to start him. What would Mick know though? He is only the manager that has assembled a young team that has taken us to the top of the Championship.

I agree that we’d be better off with Carlos Edwards on the pitch (and Keogh on the bench), but Carlos played his international in Trinidad at 1am (UK time) on Thursday morning, and I believe he only got back to the UK on Friday morning. You’ll note that both Hennessey and Dave Edwards started on the bench, too - so Mick is consistent.

To fans who dont go to games for whatever reason, stop having a pop at certain players. Granted listening on the radio is ok but you must realise you get a better prespective of a match if you go to the game. Collins was average, AK was average but if watched Manure yesterday Berba was average,, so what I am saying is that players cant be world class every time they play football. If the team keeps winning it might tell you that the team performance on a whole is going well. Its a team game not Collins & AK plus 9!

Last ditch efforts to stop an onslaught of our goal means that we were riding our luck, its not moaning, it called STATING THE BLEEDING OBVIOUS

I also commended MK, Edwards and Ikeme on good games, so how bout this, you are entitled to your comments, and I am bloody well entitled to mine.

Many more performances like that and we’ll start plummetting, so lest we delude ourselves, clearly Keogh needs to be dropped in favour of Edwards (and hopefully Jarvis soon) and something needs to be done about our def, I wish I knew what.

Ad Mant, I agree with you that you are entitled to your opinion. So is everyone else though. (Including 77, who you are having a go at.)

You have to take a look at what has happened with Carlos Edwards though, and see why he didn’t start on Saturday. He had flown to Trinidad to join up with his team-mates, and then flew on to Central America for a match, then back to Trinidad. He arrived back into the UK at 01:00 hrs Saturday morning. I dread to think how many time-zones he travelled through, or what delays he had at various airports to get home. That must be tiring on anyone’s body.

We have a daughter that lives in San Diego, California, and we miss her dreadfully. As a result we visit her whenever we can. The travel there takes a minimum of 11 hours to Los Angeles, and then at least a three hour car drive. We can fly via various US East Coast airports, and then fly on to San Diego, thus saving the car drive. That though adds on delays at various airports. When I get back from visiting her I am no good to man nor beast for several days. (one trip with an eight hour time difference.) Believe me, Carlos Edwards could not have played a full ninety minutes on Saturday at any level of fitness. Mick did the right thing in Starting Keogh. However, he should start Carlos Edwards against Norwich.

Collins will have to start against Norwich. You cannot expect Shackell to have his first start for Wolves at his old club with a home crowd that will boo his every touch, and cheer his every slight mistake. It is too much to expect of him.

    Just my opinion.

what is his position because he damn sure isnt a striker. no pace, no quality on the ball and he couldnt finish his dinner. . . it seems that anywhere on the pitch is out of position for our WEAKEST link because he constantly shifts position as he is being carried, and still Mick will accomodate him as and when is possible,

a muppet cos i disagree with you… pah, typical response.

if we play like we did on sat we will be beat, and often. Ikeme was just supreme between the posts, and with point blank shots you have to rely a lot on luck too.

Ofcourse we are thrilled to be where we are in the league, but you cant help feel its a bit of a false economy when luck is largely the reason we emerged league leaders on Sat. And I dont call it negative so much as cautious. Sheesh.

If we play well, I applaud the team, and similarly you cant expect myself or any of the Wolves faithful to jump up and down when the team is underperforming. I will say again, neither myself, nor anyone sitting around me was booing Keogh.

Brerton, perhaps CE was too fatigued to start, my reaction was probably because im still weary of MMs favouritism. Keogh is great to have on the bench, but, when they are all fit, I dont think he could displace anyone on the wing or upfront.

    Peace.
