Youngsters at a Darlaston school have been taking part in a scarecrow making competition.

Pupils at Rough Hay Primary School have been making their own squarecrows from recycled materials which are being judged by parents.

Scarecrows will be judged on originality, evidence of recycled materials, visual impact and whether they are waterproof.

Pupils have been working in their house point groups. Pupils who have made the winning scarecrows will receive house points for the school and extra play time.

The scarecrows are being judged all week by parents.

Mandy Cresswell, bursar at the Rough Hay Road school, said: “The children have really enjoyed themselves making the scarecrows. There are some really original ones and the parents have been coming in all week to judge them. It has been great fun.”
