A Walsall FC star took on the role of teacher when he joined pupils as part of National Book week.
Defender Rhys Weston took time out to meet youngsters at Hillary Primary School yesterday afternoon.
He read Revolting Rhymes by Rohald Dahl with a group of 25 children at the school in Hillary Street, Pleck.
Education chief Tony Stainer, of Walsall Children’s Services, has also been working alongside the children.
Through National Book week all 430 youngsters aged between three and 11 are getting involved in reading initiatives. On Thursday they are dressing up as their favourite characters. Teacher Emma Waterhouse said: “We are trying to raise awareness and make reading more prominent.”
