Mother’s Diana poem is published

A poet from Wolverhampton has had her moving verses about Diana, Princess of Wales published in a new anthology.

Wednesfield-born Beverley McKenzie will feature in a new book to be published next month which gathers the work of poets from around the region.

The 41-year-old former social worker has written a piece called Diana As A Rose which pays tribute to the princess who died in a car crash in Paris 11 years ago.

The mother of three and stepmother of two has also written pieces about gun crime and the devastating effects it can have on young people, both as victims and for those who will be spending their lives in prison afterwards. 

The book is called Forward Press Poet 2008 and the Midlands edition will be available in book shops priced £24.95.
