New boy dreams of trip to United

boro8.jpegAlbion new-boy Jonas Olsson believes the Baggies will carry vital momentum into his ‘dream’ trip to Manchester United in 11 days.

Boyhood United fan Olsson says he cannot wait to lock horns with the team he followed from Sweden.

And he believes their back-to-back victories against Middlesbrough and Fulham will send Albion to Old Trafford brimming with confidence.

“It’s a very nice team and situation at the moment,” said the giant Swedish defender. “As a newcomer you want to relieve the pressure and get some points on the board.

“Entering the international break with a good feeling around the club makes it so much easier to go training, especially with a few recent wins behind us.

“It is also important to have that feeling for when we go to Manchester United. That game will be a dream for me.

“That’s what the Premier League is all about and as I supported them when I was younger it will mean a lot to me. I have been waiting for it.”

Olsson believes his own form is improving each week as he settles into his new surroundings after an £850,000 switch from NEC Nijmegen in August.

But the former Sweden under-21s star, who has tasted three wins in four appearances so far, has laughed off his label as a lucky charm.

“It becomes easier as you get to know the players – what type of players they are, what skills they have and where they want the ball,” he said. “Coming to a new club the first few games are always nerve-wracking.”

Another gem for £850,000. Keep em rolling in Mr Mowbray. A striker for peanuts in January should do nicely!!

Another super signing from TM and Co.

We have to be realistic about our trip to Old Trafford, some of the best sides in Europe and our league don’t get anything.

I hope the players enjoy the experience at playing at the home of the Premier and European Champions, our players deserve it!

    Boing Boing!!

Jonas Olsson has turned out to be a pretty good
signing, but the one thing he seems to lack is
any real pace,so for the Man Utd game I`d play
    him in midfeild as ROONEY/RONALDO/TEVEZ/BERBATOV
e.t.c. could tear him to peices.

i cant wait 2 watch this on tv- shouldn’t be an easy victory for united as our recent form is superb. I reckon we will lose by only 1 if not we could sneak a draw like a few years ago!

Why do fans and players who don’t live in Manchester always say they support M-United WHY?

3-0 away to United wouldn’t bother me too much, not one of the games we expect to get anything from. Although could you prepare us for what it’s like to concede 3 goals please? You lot have quite a bit of experience of that lately hahahahaha

20 - Terry, I’m thinking it might be a pub called the Quadrant, which is down towards the cricket ground as it’s a bit of a nightmare to get in the pubs right next to the ground.
Big screens showing all the football all day long, and they’re a bit more friendly to us away types too. If you do drive instead of getting the coach up you can park down by there too.
    Lovely jubbly!!
