Angry residents have hit out at plans for a mobile phone base and mast more than 40ft high near their homes in Kidderminster.
Vodafone has put forward a proposal to put a base station with a mast on an asphalted area along the Wolverley Road at Franche.
Residents are angry about the “hostile proposal” to create the base station near their homes, the local pub and a local nursery, fearing an eyesore and possible health risks.
Worcestershire County councillor Nigel Knowles is urging protesters to make their feelings known by writing to object to the scheme before the company makes an application for permission. He said: “I believe this is a hostile enquiry.
“People at Barnabees Nursery are opposed to this and people who go to the local Three Crowns and Sugar Loaf pub also object.”
He has called on objectors to have their say by writing to Gary Lyon, at Patrick Farfan Ltd, Theatre Building, Carrington Park, Manchester M31 4DD.
No-one at Vodafone was available for comment.
