Manager Jimmy Mullen believes his Walsall side cannot relax for a second in the jungle that is League One.
The Saddlers travel to Brighton looking for their first back-to-back wins of the season. Victory could see them jump into the top six of the table.
The Seagulls sit just one point behind and five places behind their seventh placed visitors and Mullen knows complacency could see the Saddlers defeated.
He said: “I stated last year that the top sides can beat the bottom sides and the bottom team can beat the top team. It is a great league.
“The quality of football of some of the games I have seen at other clubs is fantastic, both individually and as a group.”
Mullen could name an unchanged side but, with captain Stephen Hughes fit again following a calf injury, he could be tempted to include the midfielder.
He said: “I didn’t want to take a gamble for the sake of one game at Bristol Rovers. He’s trained all week and is champing at the bit to play.”
The manager has also been impressed with defender Paul Boertien after he was dropped for the 3-1 win at Bristol Rovers for Netan Sansara.
The former Derby man has done is chances of a recall no harm.
Mullen said: “Of course he was disappointed last week but his attitude and the way he has carried himself has been first class.
“The players deserve all the credit for last week because it is a tough place to go. I fully expect the players to be fully focused going into the weekend.”
Mullen will take his place on the Withdean Stadium touchline after hearing nothing about any repercussions, following his dismissal from the dugout at the Memorial Stadium last weekend.
He said: “I spoke to the referee after the game but I haven’t heard anything otherwise.”
