Hot on the heels of the latest Ford Fiesta comes the replacement for its baby sister the Ka.
The all-new Ka will make its global debut at the 2008 Paris Motor Show before going on sale in the UK either at the end of 2008 or at the beginning of 2009.
The new car replaces the iconic original Ka, which brought new levels of style and enjoyment to the city car market when it was launched in 1996.
The new vehicle retains the qualities which made the Ka so popular - compact size, great looks, lively dynamics and fun personality - but presents them in a fresh package.
With its striking interior and exterior design, top class dynamics and unique character, the Ka aims to set new standards for affordable small cars.
It will be practical, safe, cheap to run, and friendly to the environment.
The Ka may share a platform with the Fiat 500 but does not share its retro style.
The Ka has the same family ‘kinetic design’ look possessed by recent Fords. Bold contrasts and expressive colours have deliberately been chosen to reflect the more adventurous tastes of the typical Ka customer.
The Ka retains the same proportions as its predecessor but has a chunky, expressive style all of its own.
A number of visual cues from the outgoing car ensure that the new design is recognisably a Ka, yet it has the dynamic qualities which mark it out as a member of the ‘kinetic design’ family.
The interior has a stylish, dynamic look - just like the exterior.
The new Ka is practical too, with generous interior space and comfortable accommodation for four adults and their belongings.
The high seating position, carefully placed controls and excellent visibility make the all-new Ka a pleasure to drive for drivers of all ages.
The original Ka was renowned for its go-kart like handling, and the new car has been designed to be just as fun and rewarding to drive.
Ford’s chassis engineering experts tuned the suspension, steering, and chassis, with the same meticulous attention to detail which has made Ford a leader in vehicle dynamics.
The affordable new Ka is designed to be both cheap to run and kind to the environment.
It uses two economical, low emission engines: a 1.2-litre 69PS Duratec petrol engine and, for the first time on Ka, a 1.3-litre 75PS Duratorq TDCi turbodiesel. Both engines are available with sub-120g/km CO2 emissions.
The 1.2 petrol model, the expected top seller, cuts fuel consumption by 21 per cent compared to the previous 1.3-litre Ka.
The new car will also meet Ford’s strict safety standards with a rigid body shell and Intelligent Protection System (IPS).

You would have better ford kas by now if you made them more often. It does not take 10 years to make a ford ka. You should really try to go beyond the imaginiation because ford kas are not hardy good. Try to have greater ideas and try to make ford kas more future like so they are a little better.
