Theo WalcottTheo Walcott was England’s hat-trick hero as Fabio Capello’s side thrashed Croatia 4-1 in their World Cup qualifying tie in Zagreb.

The 19-year-old opened the scoring on 26 minutes and, despite damaging one of his boots in the first half returned to find the net again in the 59th and 82nd minutes.

Wayne Rooney grabbed England’s other goal on 63 minutes, with Mario Mandzukic scoring the consolation goal for Croatia in the 78th minute.

    Had to go up the town to watch it on Sultana, but it was worth every penny. Capello earnt every bit of his massive wage.

    I was lucky enough to be able to watch it and we were excellent. I later played back part of the game and saw us pass the ball 44 times without a Croatien getting anywhere near. It was Munich and 5-1 all over again. Long may it continue.

    I have sky but all internationals should be on ITV or BBC if you ask me.

    11. Tipton. I saw that flag mate. To be fair we always have a great following at England games. When I was at the world cup in Germany there was no other team better represented than Wolves. This was confirmed by my two mates who were Sunderland and Watford fans.
