Fordhouses confident of escape

wicket_keeper.jpgFordhouses skipper Russell Thompson is confident his side will beat the drop if they win their remaining two games.

Thompson’s men need to jump two places to climb out of the relegation zone but trail ninth-placed Bablake Old Boys by four points and eighth-placed Kington by 19 points.

The skipper believes his team have the best run-in of the trio and he remains hopeful they can pull off a shock survival – starting at already-relegated Oswestry this weekend.

He said: “We’ve got to win. Obviously we’re third from bottom but I feel if we win our two remaining games we’ll stay up.

“Bablake still have Coleshill and Brockhampton to play, which won’t be easy, while Kington have Olton and Whitchurch and they’re both difficult games.

“We have Oswestry, who are already relegated, and Lichfield at home, who we’ve already beaten away, so we’ll be confident for that one.”

Alan Chapman and Chris Armstrong both miss out but Josh Giddings will be drafted in.

Sixth-placed Lichfield host Whitchurch, knowing a win could still see them leapfrog their opponents on the final day if results go their way.
