    While I basically agree with your comments, I think we will be very lucky to get £500,000 for Gerrard. If we do then it would be silly to refuse it. Finding two decent centre halves might not be impossible if we are prepared to offer them good wages out of the money we get for Gerrard.

    Darren, you forgot to mention our star player in each of our first four matches, Jabo Ibehre - surely you agree that he is also “quality”.

    Northbank Barmy Army - you can certainly have him for £1m - he ain’t that good!! Actually, £750k and 2 or 3 of your decent reserves would be a good deal.
