Walsall midfielder Marco Reich could find himself in hot water when boss Jimmy Mullen looks closely at the penalty decision that went against the German at Crewe on Saturday.
Reich was challenged by Julian Baudet and showed his frustration when the referee waved play on by thumping the ground.
Cambridge official Kevin Wright produced a yellow card and booked Reich.
Mullen said: “I have asked Marco why he did not stand up and try to score and he is adamant that the defender caught him. If that’s the case, then I will hold my hand up and accept it.
“But after watching the dvd and if that’s not the case, that he could have stood up and had a go at goal, then I will give him the biggest rollicking he has ever had.
“Because that was chance to get us level and we had scored then, I believe we could have gone on and won the game.”
Mullen was not sure whether Reich had been booked for showing dissent or for a dive but that will come clear from the highlights.
The manager will also watch the entire game again in a bid to find out what went wrong and he has warned there could be a change in the team, although he admitted: “We do not have many options.”
Mullen has constantly said he is monitoring the loan market and that could be an active option.
He still has injury problems and striker Michael Ricketts has to miss out next week to complete his three match ban.

And why do we not have many options, Mr Mullen? If you sign an injury-prone centre-half and then don’t sign any cover then what do you expect? It’s typical Walsall, always trying to do things on the cheap. We also need another forward as neither Deeney nor Nicholls are good enough. In the area where we do have cover (midfield) Mullen is leaving our best available midfielder (Bradley) on the bench and playing a defender (Taundry) instead. C’mon Mullen get a grip!
