Inquiry on death couple ongoing

wd2981945lichhome-1-rh-18.jpgInvestigations were continuing today into the death of a devoted Walsall couple found dead at home.

Mystery surrounds the deaths of John and June Jones, in Walsall Wood.

Post mortems have been carried out but police said they could not yet reveal the results as they were still trying to contact relatives.

Detectives were today continuing efforts to piece together the final moments of the couple, whose neighbours raised the alarm on Saturday after not seeing them for two days.

A single floral tribute has been placed outside their home in Lichfield Road.

One of the neighbours of the couple, who were aged in their 60s, said the community was still in shock.

Keith Davis, aged 50, said: “We’d always stop and have a 10-minute chat. I always got on well with them.

“I think everyone just wants to know exactly what has happened.”

Walsall Coroners Court say an inquest would now not be opened until next week at the earliest.
