Harriers face Glovers in Devon

yates1.jpegKidderminster Harriers take on Yeovil Town in the Errea South West Challenge Cup in Devon tonight.

Mark Yates’ side will lock horns with their old Conference rivals at Bideford Town’s Sports Ground (8pm).

It is the first of two matches in 48 hours for Harriers with a trip to Barnstaple Town following on Friday night.

Yates believes a bit of bonding can give Harriers that extra edge during the season.

He said: “The lads have been training very well. They had a good session under their belts yesterday and had a dip in the sea, rather than a nice bath.

“The tranquil surroundings of Devon show that it’s just nice to get the lads away. Getting to know each other as people – as well as players – is important.

“This sort of pre-season tour is very good for morale.”

Defender Luke Jones has shaken off a knock to be fit for tonight but Mark Creighton is unlikely to be risked until their clash with Barnstaple on Friday evening.
